Probably not. I think that after hearing his own skid plates he will be forever scared of rocks. I'm trying to convince a friend of mine with a near stock TJ to join us.

Andy - you are running KM2s aren't you? How do you like them? I'm almost sold on a set of 35s.

Tell him a lift kit salves that scrapping issue. Yes I am running BFG km2s. They are awesome off road, I have heard the wear well, but mine sits in the garage, so I don't know. They are very loud on the road, personally, I would not put them on a daily driver, I would go Goodyear MTR or Duratrac or BFG all terrain. Nitto mud grappler and toyo mud tires are a nice mix of a mud and all terrain like the MTRs. Just my thought. BFG mids are good if you don't mind very loud.
I hope you buddy with the TJ comes, I might have a friend with a 88 toyota 4runner on 32s coming. Thinking of blue trails on the main side that we have not ran yet. Let me know. Are you getting a lift to go with these tires?

Thanks for the insight. If I go with 35s, I would get a Teraflex 2.5. If I go with 33s I'll just keep my leveling kit on. I keep reading that the MTRs have balancing troubles if you get them in 35 inch. And I was trying to stay away from the Duratracs because everyone and their mother has them (sorry Tim), even though they are awesome for all types of driving. Hardest decision ever.

I am convincing my TJ buddy to come. My brother in-law has a 2 door JK but he might just ride with me for his first trip.

How many guys have you had in your groups lately? I'm just thinking that it gets a little crazy when you have 10+ in a group.

Last trip it was 3 (Andy, Andy from NY, and me) it was nice, we were able to cover a lot of ground.

Rick, I think these are you new tire, it is what I would like Trepador Competition M8060 | Maxxis USA
Grabber
General Grabber's might be a nice medium for a mud/at tire, heard a lot of good about them. also, if you cant decide, you cant go wrong with BFG ATs, good on everything, run like 50,000 miles on them. I never heard that on MTRs, all I have heard was good except the cost. I have heard of all the sidewall issues with Duratracs, but have never seen them on 5 trucks I have seen them on. I think that you cant go wrong with BFG ATs or the General Grabbers for a daily driver. 33's on a stock rig would look cool, nice low center of gravity, if you trim your fenders I bet you can get 35's on too.

As of now, if my friend and your friend come, we will have 5. I don't plan to advertise it on RC site, but might ask a guy to two that we wheeled with last year.

All good for Saturday? Need me to bring anything?

I hope that I won't be slowing you guys down in my little near-stock Jeep.

Yea I think we are all good, I haven't had the chance to talk with Andy (sorry Andy, doing way to many things) but I'm looking forward to it. I don't think you will slow us down and if you do that might be a good thing, I'll be in less of a rush to break something :-)
