The axle is still under the jeep right? caps are off etc. Get a bigger hammer! haha. They can be real tight. You have the shafts pulled out partially right?

I had to use a big crow and a sledge both times. I used semi-gentle taps. I've heard of guys using a ratchet strap around the back onto something else... Seems semi-dangerous

Where are you guys talking about? Seems like i would know but new to pa. Try getting the biggest half.in breaker bar you can find. Ring gears are near or in the 100s for torque specs. If that dosent work get a cheaper bar

It's not the ring gear in having problems with I can even get the carrier out of the case to even take the ring gear off

Hmm. Have you tried a rubber mallet along the ring gear edge?

I wanted to, but I have a concert saturday night I am going to so I would only be able to come up for the morning, and honestly don't have cash for both DV and rock run sunday. With this trip, my build right now, and a tool I had crap out wednesday that I had to order new, cash is tight. I am waiting on like 3 checks to come in next week and the end of this month... Too bad though. I wanted to get into some of the harder stuff up there this year.

Nice

I want to cut some trails too, talking to scott we can go help whenever just gota give him a call. I go to school real close, so I can even go up on evenings and stuff during the week.

I'm swapping in an 8.8 w/ artec truss, all new brakes, sye, driveshaft, custom cross member, tummy tuck skid, new d30 up front (4.10s in both axles) along with a few other things. Finishing that up in a few weeks finally, then I gota have $ put aside for my rausch creek trip in July, and I would like to lock the 8.8, but I may just keep the LSD. outboarded shocks, MC control arms, custom hiline tube fenders and a rokmen gas tank skid are also up for order. First order of business is getting the axles in however, and get them out on a test run. We will be hitting rock run again I think before rausch just so I can get some real trails in before rausch to work out any bugs and test out the LSD. This winter I hope to get some DOM in and do some cage work and steering for the front, pick up 35s and a few other little things. I need to figure out what I want out of my jeep so I can make a decision if I am gona build a 44 for the front or beef the 30... I'm torn.

My point is every buck counts, especially right now trying to get this axle under my rig.

Got the locker in and everything buttoned up.

All this talk about everyone's plans and axel swaps is starting to make me rethink what I thought my plans were going to be for my jeep.

3 years ago I never knew what I was getting into... only thing holding me back now is being a college student and dealing w/ part time jobs and crappy minimum wage. Glad you got the locker in, you should definitely be able to hang w/ us fine now. How is your buddy setup?

And did you mention your lift is a 2 inch coil or budget boost?

My buddy is locked front and rear on 33s. For right now it's just a bb. I have plans on replacing it with 2 inch springs. All I want is 2 inches of lift with a TT. Is that so much to ask lol

Damn saharah sounds like you got a bunch of mods on your mind lol. We should get something together and cut some trails with Scott. I coul only do weekend cause that's a far drive for me.
I say skip the 30 and beef up a 44!!! Haha I've been trying to find a front 44 from rubi jk but people think those things are plated in gold. I want 37's but I don't Want to chance it with my d30. I've broken enough with 35's (measure to 33's) so going up to 37's has me nervous.

Steve I seem what you said about scrubgrass and how we had to back up that quad trail. That was a rough day lol

Yeah... on my mind. I would rather they be on my jeep. I have some local guys to help me w/ tools and I can do most of it myself for cheap so it's helping me get more done.

I wana beef a 40, but the 30 is just so much cheaper, and therefore quicker, to get setup. I will have 37s too so it's either a full bore 30 or a good d44. I almost snagged chromos for a few hundred but didn't get them.

I'm down with cuttin trails, I'll talk to my guys after we take this trip and they will probably want to come too, we will figure something out.
