Hey all :wavey:!!!! Just wanted to introduce myself first. My name is Jimmy, I'm 28 and just picked up a new Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Sport. This is my third jeep, but first wrangler. Im in love all over again. Should've never gotten out of the jeep family LoL. This is my second day on the forum and I just want to add that this is one kick a$$ community of Jeepsters from what I've seen so far. Very very helpful with tips and tricks, most of all very friendly. I was just wondering if anyone was from the area or surrounding that knows of some decent trails for a stock wrangler(for the moment) to explore for the first time. Trails that I have been to awhile ago that are about an hour or so away, have been either closed or cleared out to have townhouses built in its place. I don't mind traveling 2-3 hours away to check out some places. Might even make a nice weekend out of it when the weather gets nicer. I often travel up north near the Adirondack Mountain area by Lake George and Lake Placid. Beautiful area with lots and lots of woods. Unfortunately i don't know any NY trails to check out anywhere. I read a couple of posts about the northern new jersey area and am going to research more about it.

Legally outside of seasonal limited access roads in the winter and some private club owned property in the NYS Central Southern Tier.. EVERYTHING IN NYS IS PRIVATE PROPERTY.. Everyone in NYS is forced to go down into P.A for wheeling legally.. Exception is here and to my knowledge only here http://www.whisperingpineshideaway.com/ ... It is a fun place to go play around in the woods but not worth any travel over 3 hours..

If there is anything local to you that I am unaware of I would check in with these guys Adirondack Jeeps - Get there from here. ... They might be able to help you out if there is anything out there legal.. Sorry Bango but NYS is not a fan of us romping around in our Jeeps and 4x4's.. Now ATV's and Snowmobiles they are HUGE supporters of them :banghead:

Join a club, then you'll have access to some of the afformentioned private land, and people to wheel with/ wrench with. I don't know where you are located but the two closest clubs to that area are Hudson Valley 4 Wheelers, and my club located out of the Albany to points north area, Adirondack Jeeps. Get in touch with HV4W, it sounds like they're closer to you. I haven't talked to those guys in a few years now but when I did Andy was the guy in charge, and he had a white TJ on D44's and 35's. Great guys, I've wheeled with them before and they've been doing it for a long time, they know their stuff and come prepared (including power tools and inverters for trail emergencies)!
