Waiting for some recovery gear to arrive. I hear they are really strict inspecting.

I've heard that also ,but in the twenty years going there on my own i have only been checked maybe 5 times .All you need is a jack, board, strap, shovel, bucket, fishing gear and if youare going to air down you need a gauge and a air hose.If you need anything on that list PM me i have doubles of almost every thing on that list ,excect the jack. But the one under your seat is good enough.

Factory jack is fine. I don't remember an air hose being a required item, only a gauge that reads down to 5 psi.

Your right ,but if you air down how are you going to air up.Because if they check your stuff they make you air down.

Ok, sounds like a plan. Lets pick a date. Meeting some guys to night at Route 110, you should come.

I didn't know that if they check you they make you air down. Do they make you go all the way down to 5 psi? And than do you have to go all the way to demo to air back up if you were at the thumb?

No you dont have to air all the way down, but it makes a huge difference in the ride .And the only place to air up is demo.A slow ride from the thumb to demo, you sould be ok.Just air down enough to make a difference.

Personally it is easier to air up at demo. Those compressors are not cheap and they take forever. Its only a 5min drive from the THUMB to DEMO.A hose set up is about $25 bucks, some compressors can get up to $300.Depending on the size of your tires, some of those things wont even fill your tires completly.

I hear the line at Demo can get pretty long on a busy day.

Its $200 but can fill a 35 x 12.5 from 0-30psi in about 5 minutes. I've thought about getting something like that also but haven't had the need for it yet to justify it.

I may be out in that direction Friday night, so if I am I'll pass by 110. Near applebees by the movie theatre and all right? I don't know what's in store for the weekend but we shall see, I'd love to get out on the sand.

Just got back from sore thumb, and seemingly just in time as the clouds have rolled in. It was crowded and there were a whole lot of jeeps out there. Here's a pic of mine if anyone saw me. Can't tell in the pic really but I currently have olive half doors.
