Just saw this thread and saying a quick hello to all the Hudson Valley Jeepers! Yonkers guy originally here and moving back in December, so once I am I can get my lift and tires done (kind of hard to do it with garage parking in the city haha). Once I do I'd definitely like to tag along if you guys have room for another....

So when we all wheelin... I went out at a friends house yesterday and showed him what a Jeep can do. Made threw all mud and rocks his ol F-250 on 40"s wouldnt make. Water up into doors and mud I had to be in 4 HI 2nd PINNED to keep it spinnin and make threw. Walked over some rocks he didn't think stuff drove over, and sure enough used my winch twice. LOVE IT. Lets all wheel im torqued up.

Was just recommended to the tread, and like it so far. Im from the White Plains area, and wanted to know about any Jeep meets or people making trips, I'm fairly new to wheeling, although all my money for the past six years has been dumped into my Jeep.

Hey steel blue... Glad you came in to our little group here... I think a few guys on here belong to clubs, they will get in touch with you.... I'm going on vacation for a few weeks but when I get back I will message you... Maybe we can meet up with a few other lower westchester jeepers to talk shop....

Welcome I'm in Sleepy Hollow. I run with the guys in the North Jersey Jeep Club. great group very friendly, everything from stock to beyond crazy. check us out.

As for a westchester jeep night I'm all for going someplace and talking jeeps over a few drinks.

I got some emergency weather stuff sent to my email/phone last night. I know we drive jeeps, but some of us are about an hr away. The snow doesn't bother me, its the rainfall and flooding with colder temps that does.

See below:
To our emergency management and other key partners,
An early season nor'easter is bringing the threat of coastal flooding and snowfall (yes, snowfall!) to our region. The attached briefing package is intended to promote situational awareness and help assess potential risk. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.

The text of the executive summary is included below.
Gary Szatkowski
National Weather Service - Mt. Holly NJ

Executive summary follows:
Early season nor’easter threatens the region.
The most likely time to feel its effects are Saturday, October 29th
There is the threat of significant snowfall for this early in the season
There is a medium risk of 1-3 inches.
There is a slight risk of 6+ inches.
There is the threat of coastal flooding
There is a high risk of moderate coastal flooding.
There is a slight risk of major coastal flooding.
Rainfall is not expected to be significant enough to cause inland fresh water flooding.
Winds may be a factor if we get significant snowfall accumulating on trees which still have their leaves, resulting in a high risk of tree limbs breaking under the load.
See the following slides for additional information.
Next briefing package will be issued around 600 PM Thursday, October 27th.
Maintain situational awareness by monitoring our website at:
Philadelphia Weather - National Weather Forecast Office Mount Holly Home Page
Contact information
Gary Szatkowski – 609-261-6602, ext. 222

I'm pumped!

To bad it's only going to be rain an small amount of slush build up. Does NYS ever learn what the weather tells you is inflated to all hell to sell more canned soup. It's all still way to warm (ground an all) to have any snow actually stick. But regardless my hopes are a hell of a lot of snow to play in.

If you can't tell I love winter

All are welcome to crash here! Instead of crashing on the road... AND....if you want to come early BEFORE the weather gets bad, feel free!

Just bring an air mattress and pillow and sleeping bags.

Or if no air mattress, I have couches.... either way, there will be a spot for everyone.

Breakfast will be eggs, sausage (or bacon) on a roll. I highly suggest bacon as it helps with hangovers.

Snow storm? Check. Power outage? Check. Party still on? YES!

Despite the 12" of snow and loosing power at 9pm, party carried on thanks to the standby generator.

Here are some pics:

Sucks I couldnt make it. We went out early to get snow tires on the g/fs car and it took 5 hours of waiiting. By that time we lost power and needed to get home to take care of the dogs.

Looked like fun though!~
