For the test they were just sitting there, they will be nailed to the supports with 8" aluminum gutter spikes to keep them from rolling. Would have prefered one more tree under there for support but dragging 30ft trees through the trail, mud, and stream gets old pretty fast... Figure this way it will bend and be a little more exciting to cross, worst case scenario it fails and its a whopping 12" drop to the stream that is less than a foot deep.
The stream is deceiving, it is only about 12ft wide and a foot deep but the bottom is like pudding with very little traction add to this that Glen's 40's dug out some nice holes and you can see the need for the bridge. Even Mr Mud himself, sadass had to be winched out yesterday.

This is after you get out of the stream, maybe 30ft long. Problem here is at the end you need to climb a 3ft high ledge that is about 35° with a 45° angle away from the trail toward the trees. Overall it is definitely an advanced obstacle. After Mike was winched out we txt'd James(the last person to successfully complete climb out) and a gauntlet was thrown and accepted. Hopefully a full on challenge is set up for next weekend?
Mike trying to climb out

Oh yeah, Mike has super swampers on the rear and a 5.9 so he can crawl or spin. Nothing worked so he got the hook and a bit of crap...

A Bacon bridge with a spinning plate obsticle?? Awesome ! We could be there all night !

How much does that Chero weigh? Looks like you just sunk. Its ok, Ive personally seen 40" tires do the same !

I will be there next weekend,, if anything a winching point !

No, Seriously,,,looking forward to a good time. Rain is forcasted so it just may make that mud hole a challenge, maybe in reverse..
No one has a movie of me last time?.

All kidding aside . I consider you guys good friends and have a great time hanging out with ya !

Thats fine, we can wait for the bear to climb on the bridge, then winch to whole thing into a fire pit. I heard bacon wrapped bear is pretty tasty.

When I dont go wheeling I get bored . When I get bored I go to the garage. When I go to the garage I have a few beers. When I have a few beers I get ideas and do this.
Notice anything?

Mike. Im beating that rim into submission so it dosent leak !

Remember that welder I was selling for 75 ?. I bench tested the motor that someone said was bad. It worked. Put it back together and it works perfect!
Welded a few peices together.
I cant explain it
Keeping it now

"Our bacon for our Maple Bacon donuts comes from either Full Moon Farm, Fleishers or Dynes Farms. Our eggs are organic, and we’re looking into the steps necessary to have our own chickens provide our eggs"

This quote is from the new donut place that opened by me in Nyack. Yes it says MAPLE BACON DONUTS, and they serve Stumptown coffee, which for coffee drinkers like myself is a godsend. I will be there tomorrow morning to sample some of these treats and if bacony enough, will bring some up for the next session. Wranglers+beer+bacon=

Bear, I just used some 1" blue painters tape to mark out my cut lines on my fenders, once happy with how it looked, I used a jig saw to cut them. I cut them while on the Jeep. Mine had supports under the fender that I had to use a sawzall on. I also had to remove my inner fenders, then trim them and put them back on. Im not sure how different of an arangement they are on a TJ compared to mine. Look under the fender and check it out. I also had to make a bracket to move my marker light because I cut quite a bit off......

Great pics MikD, Sadass really loves the mud dont he!!
Does anyone here know the laws on 3rd brake lights? I want to take my stock tire carrier off and either make or buy a tramp stamp cover, but Im pretty sure here in the Vampire state, we need to keep the 3rd light. I was also told by someone that it has to be above the tailights. Just lookin to see if any of this is accurate, or where to look it up? Need some ideas on making a 3rd light mount also then.....

Monk, just a thought you could mount the third brake light inside the spare rim. Could test the idea with zip ties to see how it looks. This way you may not need longer wires aa well.

Mike
Mike, i got a crazy idea about mounting the spare inside, i want to build a cargo box with a drawer and make a frame on top to have the spare mounted to it on a slight angle.....not sure yet just mulling it over in my brain......probably gonna have to move the sub box also to have a little more room. Not 100% sure yet....just thinking out loud so far
