I'm burning a lot of oil, losing radiator fluid and i'm getting a bad wobble in the front around 35-45 mph. I don't think its death wobble 'cause it's not toooooo bad. But not something I want to take on the trail. It could have something to do with me dropping the axle and messing up something.

Why did you drop the axle? Motor issues sound like a head gasket, sorry. Wobble could be simple as a wheel with a lateral imbalance or a loose trac bar. We have found the the trac bar bolts needs to be crazy tight (technical term) due to Chrysler using the wrong size bolt. Ot may seem tight but it needs to be really really tight to avoid issues.

I refilled the fluids a nd did an oil change yesterday. Didn't have much time to look into anything else. I dropped the axle for the leveling kit I got. I think I want to get it on a lift and re tighten everything

Def tighten the bolts while the jeep is on level ground on it's wheels. If you tighten the bolts when there is no weight on the suspension you will have issues.
For the wobble try this, remove one front wheel and replace with the spare drive and note any change. If no change then try the other front wheel. Haha always start with cheapest and easiest.

What tire pressures are you running. Guessing somewhere around 25 would work with those big stiff sidewall 37's. Last time you were here they were def a bit high, rode nice offroad at low pressure I bet! Bye the way I think you were the last jeep to ever cross the bridge before Sandy came through. That stream crossing is now 4ft deep, going to build a new bridge too much water is no fun.

Oh man, the bridge at the far end your not supposed to cross, Damn.
Yeah, after you showed me a thing or two about tire presses, how mine was way up there at fifty, I'm around twenty five in the front and thirty on the back.

Hey there fellow Local Yokels anyone with a Red or Black JK interested in these, I rather deal locally than hassle with shipping.

Snow wheelin tomorrow! Be interesting to see how far we get! The easy trails will be serious tomorrow, forget the tough ones and the stream crossing will be nutz.

Its where the bridge used to be, just running it backward. I don't think its possible to run it this way without lockers anymore. Planning to build another bridge, probly the simple log kind to keep it exciting.

Brand new full tilt AEV rig on it's maiden voyage playin ice dancer with some aggressive trees! Video looks tame but can assure you it's tougher than it looks, it you hold the brakes you will slide left into the trees. You must release the brakes right as the rig begins to slide and your instincts scream "brakes", it will then track nicely down the hill. This was a new wheeler in a very expensive rig, impressive he was able to overide his instincts and save it.

Hudson Valley-Rockland County Install?

Whats going on everyone. I was thinking of putting a Teraflex 1155200 - Teraflex Leveling Kit for 07-13 Jeep® Wrangler & Wrangler Unlimited JK - Quadratec on my 2012 JK Sport. I recently put Rubicon wheels and tires on and would like a lifted ride.

A couple of questions?
-Anyone recommend this?
-Where can I get it installed in Rockland County or Hudson Valley?
-Will this void my warranty?

Any input would be appreciated.

Your warranty completely depends upon your dealer and your relationship with them. We have some very good ones in this area.
If you can change your oil you can probably install a spacer lift. We will be installing the same lift on another members jk in the next few weeks, if you like we could do both at the same time. You will do most of the work, we can show you what you are unsure of. Being involved in the installation allows you to deal with issues yourself in the future.
Have you been wheeling at my place before?

Mike, I haven't been up there yet but I am 100% interested. When do you think you are going to do the installs?

I wanted to do it myself but I definitely would need the guidance.

I've been hearing and actually dealt with some bad experiences myself over at Rockland Jeep, miserable service department. I only have about 8k on the engine and didn't want to run into anymore problems with them. I would gladly bring it to another service department, if possible.

What we should do is hook you with the other jk owner and have you two find a day that works for both of you.

Sounds good to me.

The dealership gave me the run around but ultimately said it was my choice and if anything should go wrong directly because of the leveling kit that it would be at their discretion to see if the warranty will cover it.

That is why you should be using a dealer that understands what jeeps are for...that said, if I have 40" tires and come in with a broken axle shaft I do not expect it to be covered but I also don't want to here crap about a bad power window motor not being covered because the of a lift kit...
Some dealers are great and approach these issues with common sense and some are more shall we say "corporate" about things. Your choice as to where you choose to go.

I agree, I will never go back to Rockland Chrysler Jeep Dodge again for any type of service related issue. I gave them more than enough chances and every time, they drop the ball. If I do install a leveling kit and have an issue, I will most likely go to a member recommended dealership.

I spoke to someone today who told me to wait on the leveling kit till I hit 36k but I'm at 8K and extremely impatient. I want to get it on there and bring what I imagine my Jeep looking like to life, for now.

I HATE the living shit out of Rockland Chrysler. Every time I've walked into there they give me hell. Dirt bag over there tried charging me a 100 bucks for bringing my jeep there for a re-call on the gas tank

Jan, one warning, if you come up here and wheel you WILL mod it...probably far more mods than you are planning on at the moment haha. Starts out with just a few things so it can clear that trail and all of a sudden it has a hemi, rockwells, and is sittin on 42" boggers... Happens...

Ruge's is the place...great family business. Also full of "enthusiast" employees. When I owned my Subaru, they have a meet every other Friday night at their Subaru dealership. One of the techs not only has like a 600 whp sti, but a full on dedicated rally gc8. Their Chrysler dealership just up the street is much of the same. Great guys and gals. Good luck

Where did you end up taking your Jeep after that?

All in due time MikD, all in due time. I can't wait to start some more mods. I'm looking into transferring my service warranty to another dealership. I hear good things about Newburgh, only about 30 minutes away from me now.

I want a leveling kit for now but once my BFG MTs start going. Only 1200 miles on the tires now, I will tackle some new wheels tires and lift!

Can my JK make it through some of your trails stock? Plus its always nice to see what others are doing to theirs to spark some more ideas.
