My MTRs sucked when at 32 psi and I was stuck on a hill. I aired down to 12 and crawled up it. Love the MTRs

My shop teacher has a tj on 35's, that does the same thing. It shakes really bad at speeds around 30-40. His is because his tires aren't balanced. The problem of it going away makes it seem like less of a bolt or loose part, because they would shake no matter what speed. Unless I'm off here. So I would guess it's a tire out of balance. Especially since large tires are very difficult to balance right at most places.

I really, very much want to get into this. My jeep is new to me, it's a 98 tj, 2.5 liter, 5spd, fully stock on some cheap a$$ stock sized tires, Daily driver...yada yada. The wife agreed to allow me to make some changes when the tires wear out. But it would be nice to be able to lift/tire whatever with some reasoning behind it to better my vehicle if I do want to take it out and get it dirty. I'm up in rhinebeck, but drive all over the Hudson valley.

Try rotating the tires around to see if it helps or changes the way it vibrates. Then you'll know the problem.

+1 on Yellows idea, just do one tire at a time so you can isolate the bad one. Really sounds like a balancing issue. How tight is your trac bar and trac bar bracket? Really effin stupid tight is the correct torque spec if I remember correctly.

Does your shop have a lift?

Anyone wanna put together an undercoating party? I've been thinking about undercoating my rig but climbing under the thing in the winter doesnt sound like fun. Figure maybe a bunch of us can get together grab some drinks and snacks and some undercoat spray make a party of it help each other out. toss the fella a few bucks...Just tossing it out there; Undercoating spray costs about $8 a can at Wally world. I figure probably 6-8 cans could do a JK...not a bad investment under $100.

Reason to under coat:
1) Salt eats Jeeps! Our North east road environment sucks
2) Sound deadening
3) Shops want like $500+ to undercoat
4) When and if you do sell buying a bullet proof non-rusting rig help sales value.
