@00tj2 - I might take you up on your offer. As a side note do you work at the Alliance Bernstein building in White Plains. I see a yellow Tj like yours parked there every day.[/QUOTE]

That's not me, I haven't been in WP since the fall. I'm right down the road in yonkers though and I'm in Yorktown all the time. Again, the offer stands if you need any help or advise. Plus I you come this weekend you will get plenty of both.

@00tj2 - thanks for the offer again. My buddy and I are currently planning to bite the bullet on the weekend of 23rd march.

I am planning to meet up with all the guys tomorrow. So hopefully all works out and I am able to get some brain dump around what I am getting myself into.

That shot of the yellow tj tripodding is great. He certainly gave it a good try, that is a difficult obstacle you need either a locker or some serious flex to get through cleanly. If he had been disconnected I bet it would have done it pretty smooth. The toyota has no flex but it's locked up and is a trail only rig so it can use the "pin it to win it" method that is so fun to watch haha! Ellen's rubi has both lockers and flex as well as excellent tires so it can be difficult to judge just how hard an obstacle is by watching her rig go through it. When the fj went up the "logride" his tilt meeter went into the red about halfway up the ramp! We had all sorts of jeeps run the log, it's about a 35deg tilt depending on your rigs setup but I just don't know enough about the fj to yet to get a feel for it's tipping point. Most jeeps can go beyond 40deg, well beyond actually but they were designed from the ground up to used in this manner, the toyota I'm not sure? The fj appears to have a higher cg and def not worth damaging a new rig to find out.

I just ordered 33s yesterday guys and now you start talking about 37s and 40s.. I already feel 33s are small even before fitting them.

@MikD - I will sms you for the name of that off road shop that we talked about.

Just bought my first jeep. '98 TJ with 2-inch skyjacker lift, 31' tires, 5 speed straight 4.0. I love it, so much fun to drive. I'm around the albany area, go to school in Hudson valley.

Bolted up the passenger side exhaust tonight but had to almost remove the driver side manifold because one of the 3 studs was hitting the transmission. Finishing tomorrow, Looks like i am going to be weekend ready!
