In East Meadow, looking to start a club in Nassau County. Off-road trips, meetings . Any body interested? All welcome ! I know this has been attempted before but come on an hour or so per week WTF. There are awesome events out there for family's and just kick ass off-road weekends . Don't be shy , PM me if interested or keep the thread going!!!
Yea, I know. Just talking about a jeep club for guys who live in Nassau and western Suffolk . So we don't have to drive in to queens or eastern Suffolk after working all day. To make it easier for us.
Hey local15Rob... Grew up in East Meadow, now next door in Uniondale. I would be interested in trying to start a club. Sometimes this starts as simple as a couple of people having a cup of coffee in a local parking lot...Wadda ya think??
I like this idea.. all the meets for long island wrangler are out in smithtown or patchogue.. not trying to go out there at 7 pm.. im from oceanside but drive al over for work some of you may have seen me around im on a gecko 2 dr with a stinger bumper
How bout a park somewhere? Idk where everyone is from but maybe merrick down by the ice rink? Theres a pretty big lot over there... or any other park thats kinda centralized
What works better for everyone? Week days or week ends? Morning, or night? If you guys are serious about this, you have step up and chime in. Once we have the when, it will make it easier to decide on the where. Most commercial parking lots may not welcome club meetings taking up spots for their customers without permission from management.
You are all right, we need a place and time. I'm going to take a drive around after work today and scout a good location. I was thinking about Wednesday or Thursday's. Because everyone has stuff to do on weekends . Time ,I think it should be 8:00. Location is next gimme a day I will find a place.
Yep....As a matter of fact I just got back....been going just about every weekend or every other the last few weeks, trying to identify some new trails/rock features...If you want to go before the event just let me know...I'll be up a lot over the next few weeks...some of it during the week though, I'm rotating into weekends at work for the next few...not sure how your schedule is....
I m working 12 hours min a day till the event . But we have to go out and find the new spots . I'm really pumped, can't wait. Are working the event or are you hanging out?
hey guys, I too live in Nassau and would love to be part. what is Tar Hollow? I am looking for places to off road in the tri state area rather than going to Rausch creek.
Tar Hollow is a private property located in Delaware County that I am involved with. My friend, the owner opens it up a few times a year for organized off road events(2 jeep events/2 atv events and a dual sport/endure event)
There is a jeep run coming up the last week in September. Google "Tar Hollow 4WD Expedition" of "Krawl for The Kids" Pre-registration is need through OK4WD.com. It's 3 days of at your own pace wheeling on pristine trails with on-site camping, food on site, & BBQ chicken dinner provide one night...Stock vehicles routinely attend, with plenty of stuff to keep the modified guys interested too...
Alright so I live in Suffolk and am pretty interested in coming to meets and stuff but I don't really get it lol. I mean I guess I kinda understand it's just like hanging out meeting new people but would it be worth it for me to come? Being that I am only 16 and not anywhere near an expert on jeeps I just feel like id be out of place haha. Kinda just posting this to see what u guys think and what u would recommend I do.
First, regardless of age, if you like Jeeps, or just four wheelin' for that matter, you will never be out of place among Jeepers. As for not being an expert, most are not. Those that have expertise have learned that over a long period of time. The truly good ones will always tell you they still don't know it all. The more you "hang out" around other Jeepers the more potential there is to learn. Everyone started somewhere. I'm no expert, but I am always happy to help. No, I don't know it all and probably never will. As for what you should do. That's up to you! You're welcome if you want.
Thanks for the reply I've been looking at a few groups who have been hosting small gatherings and what not so I guess I'm gonna have to get myself to go to one of them and check it out. I'm just not the most social guy out there so it'll most likely be very awkward for me haha. Wish I could come tonight but I'm pretty busy :/
I know where Tri County is. Wasn't sure about Millers. I see they are across the street. I think better to stay Tri-County in case anyone else that was coming did not check the thread. As Steve stated, unless Rob says different.
