Newbie from Northern Westchester area

Hi,
New to site and wanted to check in.
Picked up my first jeep a few weeks ago
2012 2dr. sport and just started w/ the mods.
Can't wait to get her dirty but being inexperienced and new to offroad I am not sure if there is anywhere local to learn!
Any sugeestions would be great, also interested in meeting up with others in area as I assume it best to learn from others and ride in a group.
