I would hate to drive all the way to one of these places if it wasn't worth it so wanted to see if anyone has gone to them

Sure, just not alone. Both times I went I was stock. Got stuck at least 3 times in the last trip, a little more adventurous that time. Trails are marked for difficulty. Good time. Wasn't there that long, couple of hours.

Stokes is legal and stock friendly. Less than 90 min from me. Pine barrens is legal, lots of sand and puddles. You have to be careful there though. "The Pit" is pretty cool. It's a bit of a drive at 2.5 hrs, I'd rather drive the extra hour and go to Rausch. There are also some trails in Sparta that we go to as well, about an hr from me.

Stokes is a state forest. The trails are just a bunch of unused mining roads or something like that. Kind of hard to find the good ones.

Definently interested, I'm all stock tho but I've had my jeep only a few days and have been itching to take it on some trails. I misses a ATV/jeep poker run back home through the country side of Illinois. Does anyone around here ever do that up here? I'm new to the jeep forums as you can tell.

i went to stokes last saturday, and was a little confused. i paid the 10 dollars that they make you pay... and when i got in there it was just a normal road. when i asked some people if they knew where to go, majority of them looked weird at me and they had no idea what i was talking about. did i go the right wayyyy.. orrr... lol thanks.

Funny, I don't remember paying to enter. The trails are hard to find, better to go with someone that knows the area, that would not be me. I was just another jeep in convoy.

hmm. i've been reading around and a lot of people say to go make a left when you're on the road... thing is i made a right and i think i went into the actual hiking and camping area where you have to pay to get in. i guess next time i go, i'll make a left instead of a right and i'll have to see where that leads me..

Keep an eye on the North Jersey thread. They wheel pretty often and that's one of the places that is frequented.

Are any of these open during this time of year? My friends and I recently bought some jeeps and are ready to hit the trails!
