Respectable Dealers NYC area?

Anyone know of a trustworthy dealer in the greater NYC area? Looking to buy a new JK soon. Thinking of using Fields and doing a fly and drive, but wanted to check on local options.
Went to Manhattan Jeep to kick tires and they seemed Ok, lot of mixed reviews out there though. I get the impression that the reviews on Dealer Rater are less than 100% truthful and skewed in the dealers favor.

Thanks!

I haven't bought from any dealers, but have been into a few... I've been into the one in New Rochelle/Larchmont on Boston Post Rd. and I would never go back. their service dept was probably the worst I've ever seen. On the other hand, I have a buddy who's a mechanic at the one in White Plains, and I was there with him on a Sunday working on his brother's Jeep, and the place was very impressive. It seemed very well run, clean professional etc.

Again, I haven't bought or even been in either showroom, so I can't tell you much about that.

Good luck!

I dont think it really matters what dealer you go to. If you do all the research your self what does the dealer have to do with the jeep that you are going to buy. Any sales men will wo rk with you for the sale. All the after market goodies is what will make the truck yours anyway.

My next door neighbor works at the dealership on Staten Island. I bought my JK through him. He was fairly honest upfront that they don't run many specials on Wranglers. He said he would knock off $500 on whatever model I chose, even though the special at the time was listed for only certain models. Since manual isn't too popular in the city, and I was dead set on it, he had to search around and found my JK in LI. I was pretty happy with my experience there and felt like I got treated right. They even managed to find better financing that my credit union offered me.

dont goto Herbee Jeep Chrylser Dodge

My jeep isn't a lemon or anything but they didn't do half of the things they said they would do to my jeep. Ive contact them like literally 100 times and not one phone call has been returned. Ive gone there in person and they have refused to talk to me without a appointment...

Remember you can buy a Jeep anywhere in a day, it's the service dept. that you have to deal with till the end of the warranty.

I recently heard some new info that changes what I just said... Basically I heard about a kid who bought a used '07 JK from the White Plains dealer. The engine has knock and is going to die in a couple years. The dealer knew but didn't tell the kid. I know this because I'm friends with mechanic who looked at that Jeep and told the salesmen about the problem. The kid still doesn't know.

So stay away from there if you're looking for a used Jeep. If you're looking for new, then a dealer is a dealer. Though you want to look for the best service department, which in my opinion, White Plains has a great svc dept

Good luck!
