Trails in the Rochester and Buffalo NY area...

Does anyone know of any legal trail riding around here? I have been searching everything and everywhere and can't seem to find any public or private trails around.

My buddies and I like to go to Whispering Pines Hideaway. It's in Lyons NY, about 25 mins from us in Rochester. They have some pretty cool trails, lots of hill climbs and a couple of sweet mud bogs. It's not free, but it's better then trespassing!!

I have been to whispering pines a couple of times! Great place, was just wondering if there were any other places around. I'm always looking for someone to head out there with seeing none of my buddies have a capable vehicle.

I don't think there are any legal places closer than that aside from seasonal roads, which I wouldn't consider off-roading.

I doubt it, but who knows. If you're on facebook at all there is a WNY Jeep Wrangler group and also a WNY 4x4 Club. They are both fairly active and they do seasonal road runs and some off-roading trips.

Unfortunately, the more urban areas of NY aren't very OHV friendly, unless you own a snowmobile. You have to go way up North to ride quads and you might find some Jeep trails if you're lucky. Like other posters mentioned, Whispering Pines in Lyons is about your only option. Other than that, you're driving to Rausch Creek in PA
