Only trails in the Salem area that you can drive on are private property and need an invite. Any others up here are not legal trails to drive a jeep on
There are some trails off the Sprain Prkway, not legal, but as long as u aint got a huge group of people(1 or 2 rigs), no one bothers you, but its on power lines so if you do get caught its a little problem. Its also a pain to get in but its a great place, especially for the people new to the sport.
I also know of a place off of 684, in Brewster. This too is a place were you can get away with wheeling with a mall group. I used to ride dirtbikes and atvs there, and every so often you may get asked to leave, but its worth it.
I personally do not a license, but those are two spots i do know of.
Both illegal:hide: but they are all used.

Hello - I am interested in meeting people with Off Road Jeeps. I drive a stock Grand Cherokee and am interested in getting a wrangler next year and putting some $ into it. But need help, and experience on trails and knowing what to buy so Im not taking advantage of. I live in Westchester County and would like to meet some local wheelers and join them for a ride. Please let me know if anyone has any room on the next outing, Happy to pay for gas and lunch to pay my way
Best Regards,
matt wroc
