I usually avoid meet and greets, but if there is some light to moderate off-roading..I'm down

Are there a lot of trees down in Smithtown? I'm in Uniondale and there are still many trees down on the wires near me. I've gotten my power back but still a lot of spots without. Just Reminding everyone to be extra cautious at all intersections...too easy to forget when you've been driving for a while with signals working and then you hit a spot without. Stay safe!

Hey, How is everyone doing..? I'm new to this site and finally picked up my new (First) Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. I've done some mild 4wheeling & mudding down in Georgia back in the day while I was serving in the Marines. I would love to tag along to do some trail runs or whatever. I live in NYC but I'm not scared to drive (Lol), so let me know..?? Thanks.

4ft of water in my garage, deck and stairs leading up to my house were ripped off from the surge, fence knocked down, tons of debris (docks, wood and garbage) in my yard. i live on the bay in patchogue i had a manditory evacuation sunday, road was still underwater until wednesday. had all utilities up and running thursday. thank god the house is raised 5ft, there was a nice water line about 4 1/2 feet up! my jeep was parked at my company dock in brooklyn which was underwater. had water up over the rockers (so im told, i was on my tugboat so didnt get a chance to see it till the water was gone but there were puddles on my floor mats) turns out there was a hole in the vent hose for the tranny so i got water in my tranny and front diff.... slave cyl for the clutch died, $800 later jeep is back and running

Hi, I'm from Brooklyn. No need to thank me but it is very much appreciated. Some of my buds think that I'm crazy to take out my new 2013 JK unlimited on the trails, but I never bought anything to just have it sit there looking pretty. LOL. I haven't done any mods, but definitely looking to put a 3" lift and some 35's. The only problem is that my JK comes with stock w/ 18" wheels and I've heard that it's better to use 16 or 17"...

Sell those 18s! They will go easy enough around Brooklyn or queens on Craigslist

@Beachbum - I remembered you were on the bay - had to be tough being at work the night of the storm. Glad all is able to be repaired.

I'm sitting here in Cornwall, NY. Still Jeepless but it's on it's way. Hoping to have it early December. Once I get it I'm game for any rides.

About an hour north of you guy's, we wheel here every other Saturday. Trails are mild but there are obstacles to try if you want to know what your rig is truly capable of. Rooz was here for the first time a few weeks ago, I believe he enjoyed himself and can describe what we do. Plenty of pics in the hudson valley thread if you are curious.
MJK, we better see you when that ride shows up, your only ten minutes away!

The majority of the jeeps here are stock and used as dd's so you don't have to worry about being left out or behind. One warning, if you come here and enjoy the trails you WILL begin modding your ride. This is a tortuous, expensive, sometimes painful and oh so enjoyable process...you've been warned. Seems to start with, hmmm a budget boost is only like a hundred bucks and then I could clear those rocks...

I live in the city now but I used to live in Poughkeepsie. Grew up there actually in my middle-high school days. Man I miss those days, but yeah there were definitely some trails up there..

Lots of trails but very little legal. Our usual Saturday stuff is on private land so no legal "issues".

Yeah I wouldn't mind going up there to hit up some trails, I don't have a heavily modded jeep for rocks and stuff though..yet.

You def don't need to be modded. Stock on street tires is fine, helps build finesse behind the wheel. A good driver in a stock rig will make it through some really tough spots. Add a decent set of tires, disco's, and a budget boost to a stock jeep and your 95% of the way there. The last 5% is what gets expensive!

"WILL Begin" is now "Has Begun"

clip of my first ever dip in the mud. More videos from the day also. Mine is fully stock with new tires though. I'm still waiting for SadAss Mike to upload the other clips he recorded.
