Did some exploring yesterday at Grafton state park; went down the winter entrance like joeno2010 talked about but was told the trails were off limits to vehicles. I did how ever find an old state fire lane a few miles away. Did some research and it appears It ends up running thru the Pittstown state park. Only made it about a 1/2 mile or so and there was a fallen tree in the way. I was alone with no tools to remove so I'm going go back and do more exploring. There were trails all over the place..

Wow looks Awesome!!! Great job!!! You guys are going out of town this weekend right? I really wanted to explore more but it was just me and my son in the jeep; no winch or cb and the cell service was horrible. My biggest fear was getting stuck all alone in the middle of the woods lol.. if there are at least 2 of us we got a chance. The main trail was all up hill and all rock. Nothing big just bumpy as heck!! I found where to access the road from the other side so we can try that route as well... Let me know when you wanna go; me and my son are dying to go back and explore more...

That might work for me. I actually go to Union over in schenectady so it's not that far. Unfortunately I have yet to find anything close to here. I'll try to explore the edge of the adirondacks this spring and see if I can find anything. I go to NH once a month and hit some trails in VT and NH on my way

I'm only stock tho so hopefully it doesn't get too hairy

I live 5 minutes from Union College... If all goes right I'm going to go do a little exploring on Sunday up near Thatcher's park it'a about 20 minutes from Schenectady. The same place I where I found the trail I went last weekend they listed a few up near Berne. I'm pretty much stock too other than the 33's I just put on so I understand about not getting in to far over your head. Lol let me know on next Sunday and any time you feel like exploring hit me up!

Do you know any trails in thatcher park? If you wanted to change your plans I'd be happy to go to grafton state park and help you with the clearing of the trail. I don't have tools with me but I'd be more than happy to help. And I have straps if we get stuck or need to pull logs

I just found out I can't do Grafton tomorrow; I have to bring and pick up my son from work so there is no way for me to fit Grafton in. looks like I'm back to the original plan of checking out those DEC roads I heard about in Berne. If your up to that let me know...

Never got to go; my weekend ended up being crazy! I did do some more searching on the web and found some more seasonal roads and DEC roads up that way and a bunch near Middleburg that I want to check out. So far I'm still still good for Sunday exploring Grafton if you guys are. My son is actually playing lacrosse at Union College on Saturday so Sunday is the only day that will work for me. Let me know...
