I'm in Albany! I'd love to go offroading. I'm not a jeep owner (sorry). The other nissan forums don't have as much on the NE (albany) area as you guys do. I am a Freshman at University at Albany. I have my 2000 Xterra and a 95' Pathfinder I would love to take out on some dirt roads. Both are bone stock. I was reading the forums and some of you guys found some trails pretty close. I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to make a run out to hit some of em with you guys...like maybe...next weekend or the weekend after that. pm or email me and I can give you my number. :] Happy Wheeling

im a little late to the party it looks like. if anyone is around this weekend my buddy and me are looking to go do some offroading sunday (9/2/12) in the albany area. PM me if your interested and ill send you my number so we can meet up. i only know of some basic trails in Delmar (old summer camp that closed years ago) and DEC roads in south mtn area (most are logging trails now and riddled with stumps and downed trees). im looking for new places to go but id be up for showing anyone what ive already found.

Found this site while driving up to college.
Never know what your gonna find until ya open up your eyes! My friend and i spent about an hour on these trails and never came to the end of one... They seem to just keep branching out.
Anyone got any other info on these trails?

Those are a good hour or so away from me. Anyone know any a bit closer to the UAlbany area? I will take a look at those trails eventually though. Trying to stay "close to home" for starts. LoL

If any one wants join us, my wife and I will be going to Vermont about a hour or so from lake gorge ny on Wednesday to do some wheeling. It's a guided type thing that also tells you about some of the local history. It's a little bit expensive but in my opinion it's worth it. We signed up for a private ride but it would be nice to have some fellow jeepers with us. We are staying near lake gorge for a week on vaca.

Hello to everyone, I'm new to this site and I know that this is an old post but I did a offroad stint at a place call the Brickyard in Stockport, NY. Mostly an old road with a bunch of mudpuddles. Here's a link to my video when I went, hope it works

I'm fairly new to New York so I don't know any spots...and I've only had a jeep for a few months. I figured the best way to find trails that aren't well known would to go on Google maps satelittle view and scrub around by hand. I came across this, it looks pretty cool but I have no idea what it's actually like on the ground. Just thought I would share. It seems to be a paved road that suddenly ends and turns into a trail, you can barely see it. I dunno, maybe its a gem you guys could go check out! I might go scout it out next week.
