Any one has those? what size hole will they fit? Thanks in advancehttp://www.4wd.com/productdetails.aspx?partID=3485

| Jeeper | Are those metal or plastic? they seem metal. The ones made specifically for my rims are made out of plastic. So today i call the guy at pro comp and i'm like i need more info on a product and i give him the product number and all the sudden i hear this long pause and he comes back with "okay it's a cap" lol

| Jeeper | You got ripped off dude, i just got mine, METAL. They sound like cooking pans when banged, They are good as far as resistance goes. Magnets stick to them. All this tells me they arent plastic and 99% metal. The outside diameter is 3 3/16" and the flange diameter is 3.5" ![]() ![]()

| Jeeper | I donno man i want to get stuff for my rig but honestly i dont know how long i'm gonna keep it for. The way gas prices have been increasing is scaring me. Its the only thing that is preventing me from going big. I dont want to end up getting new axles, 38" tires, atlas II tcase, bunch of other good stuff and end up selling it because half of my check goes to gas.

| yah.. im not in that boat.. my jeep was a present to me because my sister totaled my 04 grand cherokee.. my dad bought me it because i had 20k saved up for college.. she wasnt suppose to take it out one nite and she did.. she came and picked me up at a friends house and on the way home she flipped it 8 times =X my jeep has been paid off since the beginning of 02.. so the last 6 years its been nothing but insurance and gas =p.. figured ill keep it for my first kid one day (i hope i get a son first) well i still have about 10k left in my bank, and im pretty much done paying for my college because of the apprenticeship.. i still got night classes to finish off my metal fab degree but my parents said theyd take care of it since im in the ibew apprenticeship.. i found out ill be driving about 5 miles to work every day.. so a 10 mile trip every day isnt bad on gas.. plus 13 bucks an hour, 10 hours a day.. oh my grandpa did say when i graduated college he'd help me buy a new car.. since i cant graduate from college.. he told me to wait another year and a half and i can get me the new car i want.. i really want to wait until im about 23 to get one because of insurance reasons.. (thats the only thing im worried about) if gas does get too ridiculous i got the xj to drive.. and it gets like 20-22 mpg.. so my jeep will stay growing up.. i figured since its a 99, ill go ahead and start replacing EVERYTHING on it.. start with what i want for offroading, and as shit breaks itll be replaced.. pretty much ive replaced the whole stock suspension.. everything but control arms, im getting stronger axles so i wont have to worry about breaking one as much, tranny was just rebuilt less than 700 miles ago, new softtop and audio system, next is rhinolining the tub and new seats..

| Ya even though my parents said they wouldn't pay for a car they paid for most of my jeep. So thats the only reason I havn't thought of selling it for somthing better on gas.

| yah ive only paid for half of my gas anyways.. the last 2 years my parents filled my tank up once every week and a half.. the rest of the time my work compensated me for the gas i used.. the reason my parents pay for my gas is because i run most of their errands for em.. the only way id do it is if they pay for my gas =p.. im talking about every day im running in town for them.. but i havent driven my jeep in about 2 months now.. so im actually wasting their gas, and when i do go to the gas station its to fill THEIR vehicle up

| Jeeper | MoA, i'm done paying my rig, i bought it and like a week after is when i joined here. I payed for most of it with the money i got from my old car that i sold and my savings. The rest of the money (~5k) i got from a friend and then finished paying him the "loan" the end of last summer so i technically payed for my entire jeep on my own. Now my jeep is all payed off so all my parents are paying for is the insurance (we're on the same plan). I pay for gas and any repairs or upgrades. My college is 14 miles away and i used to go there twice a week so 28 miles every time i go there (today i took my last final for the year). My girlfriend lives about a mile from the school and the roads to her house from my house are about 16 miles away. So there goes my summer commute. My work is 5 minutes away so thats cheap but i'm not going to spend the entire summer at home or work so there goes more gas. It adds up man. I used to fill up once a week ~50 bucks every time.

| yah.. my parents and i are on the same insurance plan.. its a heck of a lot cheaper that way.. but i still pay part of it every 6 months.. ive paid for every upgrade on my jeep, rebuilding the tranny, and my tires.. not to mention all the body damage ive done to it.. my dad hated seeing it all scratched.. and having painted fender flares sucked.. i replaced/repainted em twice before i even began to mod my jeep my last gf that i dated almost 3 years lived 25 miles away (50 miles total, but luckily my jeep was stock) i use to drive out there 2 times a week.. the rest of the time she came to my house =D my college is about 12 miles away too.. i had classes there 5 days a week, 2 days a week i had class 2 times, one in the morning and one at nite.. i drove my jeep if i didnt have another car (morning classes) but most of my classes were at night or on the weekends so i was able to drive my parents car.. my current gf goes to a area career center, so she comes to my house about 5 days a week.. hell she gets worse gas mileage with her jeep than mine does.. she only lives about 5 miles away tho.. and i live on her way home from her school to her house.. so her coming to my house is only 1/4 mile round trip out of the way

| Jeeper | My jeep is getting better mpg than stock man. I got 35s and without fixing the speedo i'm getting almost the same mpg on the odo as i did before hand with my 30s. I used to get 240 before the light turns on, now i get 225-235

| your running ats tho right? also whats your gear ratio? my gfs speedo is out of whack.. running 35s on 3.73s.. she gets between 13-15 mpg im guessing with my 33s and 3.07s im at about the same.. except she has a heavy foot and ever since i put the 33s on my baby, ive taken the pedal easy.. with 3.73s that im swapping in, im guessing ill be getting around 14-16.. stock 31s i was getting 16-18 after the light turns on, my jeep gets about 85 miles (no joke) ive ran that sucker on e (not when the light turns on but when the pointer reaches the empty line) for 4 days and ran out pulling up to the gas pump

| Jeeper | ats 35x12.5r15.. 3.73 5speed and 4.0. I dont know if its my mods or whatever that i did but back when it was completely stock i was getting worse mpg than i was getting after the mods. Now i'm getting better mpg with the 35s then before with the 30s and i've been driving the same way and same routes. I have a night class so during the night i have a pretty skinny foot though but still i drove the same way with the 30s. I think its because the engine speed is much lower.

| i think 3.73s were the wrong gears for 30s.. they were putting a little more power to your tires than needed.. i run 33s on 3.07s and imo it runs just fine.. i dunno if my thinking is wrong but i would think id get better gas mileage with 3.73 gears and 33s than 4.88s with 33s.. i just figured the lower the gear ratio the more power, meaning the worse gas mileage the only intake mod ive done, i had a buddy give me a tornado for free.. i dont know if it works or not i just installed it like 5 years ago.. i never noticed a power difference or anything, but im just too lazy to take it out.. plus trip.. if you think about it, your running 35s with crazy gas prices and stock axles, are you riding the jeep as hard as you would with 30s?.. i drive like a granny now with my 33s.. the fastest ive been with em was about 65.. as apposed to 85-95 stock.. i even brake sooner and accelerate slower

![]() As for the 4.88s vs 3.73s. I think the 4.88s will give you better mpg if you're ONLY going in stop and go traffic where you have to stop before you reach 35mph and never really get to "cruise".

| yah.. true.. i woulda loved to go 4.56s or 4.88s.. but i needed to get it done, and its been raining damn near 2 weeks.. rain=no work.. plus im starting that apprenticeship so i didnt have time to wait around for the money to start rolling in.. spending 300 on gears, 350 for the axle and the gears installed, as apposed to about the same plus 350 on gears and another 200 to regear the d44.. not including another month+ of driving the jeep.. oh and one trip to ohio as apposed to 2.. with me hauling a rear axle there once and back twice by the time i get my jeep ready to go bigger than 33s.. ill end up with 1-tons under there.. im waiting until i get more experience welding.. im holding off on the la setup i was wanting.. currie is the way im going.. 900 for all 8 adjustable cas.. plus the sye, plus the rear trackbar.. as apposed to 2200 or so not including the sye for the RE la upgrade.. i figured i could wait, find some dana 60s to rebuild (im going to take a few nite classes at ivy tech for rebuilding axles, so ill know what im doing) by the time im done with em, i should have my jeep armored up, and hopefully my motor will be replaced with a stroker or v8, then ill look into clayton stretch kits.. why waste money on a re la upgrade if in 4 years i plan on stretching it?..
