Eric -- That is quite surprising. I had the opposite experience at Prestige. I got every cheap line there from "TODAY is the best day of the month to buy a new Jeep" to "Well, somebody else is also looking to make a deal on this particular Jeep today." I didn't have a whole lot better eperience at Chapman Jeep, but it was better. I've actually found a salesperson at Chapman Dodge over on East Sahara who doesn't rub me the wrong way. I'm planning on ordering a '13 soon. I agree, I can live with 1% under invoice with the TreadLightly discount. I just can't figure out whether Billet Metallic can be ordered yet. The not so good experience was with the Chapman Jeep at the Auto Mall location. And to be clear, I donít think they were doing anything super sketchy, just living down to all my expectations of a car dealership, trying to milk every last dime they could out of me. I donít NEED a new Jeep, and just didnít want to deal with the games.
The good experience was with Prestige Jeep. The guy I dealt with was Rennie Roopchand. Heís the general manager and seemed to take the long view about establishing customers. Theyíll accept the Tread Lightly discount no problem. Who knows, if I had dealt with a salesperson maybe the experience wouldnít have been as positive, but Rennie seemed no-nonsense and Iím happy enough with the 1% below invoice, I donít know what it would have been like to trying to negotiate below that. And he was just so much more transparent in his dealings with me than the other folks. I think Iím going to order tomorrow. Hope this helps and good luck.
