This looks interesting. If it works as advertised, the TruSpeed calibrator will not only adjust the speedometer, but will correct the transmission's shift points. Kinda sounds too good to be true. I'll investigate and let you know. Thanks...
Hey Rubicon2 - I saw your comments on speedo gears and transmissions and have a question that you may know about... I just put on 33s (285/75r16) and did 4.88s. I have an '05 with the 42RLE, which I know uses electronics for shifting. I've heard that the speedo gear should not have an effect on shift points, but I've also heard of 42RLEs running better after the right speedo-gear is installed.
My engine is like a 94 yr. old grandmother with emphysema. I think the shift points somehow are effected by the R&P-gear/tire/speedo-gear combo; I think its shifting into OD prematurely. At 50 MPH, my RPMs drop to around 1200, and requires a full stomp on the gas pedal to get a downshift.
What do you think? Does the speedo-gear play into this engine lag?
