Ok thanks. Yeah, I will definitely keep an eye on it. No check engine light yet so I am not super-worried. From the comments it seems like it has to get fairly loud before the dealers will do anything about it.
Yep, it started like that at about 900 miles. It got worse over the next week or two. The reason it was ticking is my valve wore wrong and doesn't allow oil to get where it is supposed to be. That is why it failed the leak down test. If you think yours is messed up make the dealership do the leak down test. Once that is done you will know for sure. If it is bad then you get the pleasure of waiting up to a month for the parts. It really sucks but I have heard one with the tick before it had a new head and then after it was fixed. What a difference! You could barely tell it was running with the hood shut.
I was just wondering if you could answer a quick question about your cylinder head problem. My '12 was built 9/2/2011, has about 3k miles on it. This morning I noticed a fairly loud ticking noise right at startup on the driver's side but it literally went away after 2 seconds or so. Is that sort of how your problem started?
