I have some reading material about the subjects I'm poor at but they are confusing the heck out of me right now. Reading right now about Modifiers: all the things they can be and what "words" support what such as, Adjectives, adverbs, participles,gerunds, infinitices, Prepositional phrases, absolute phrases, subordinate clauses, and How the all work into a sentence to be modifiers , dangling modifiers, and ambiguous modifiers.

^^^^ alot of crap I don't quite understand but I'll get it.

I'd also suggest novel or two made from a movie you've seen. It gives you a frame of reference and makes the reading easier. Plus, think back to school. Complete sentences require only two things. Noun and verb. Something has to be doing something. Runons can be divided into separate complete sentences.

I'll see If I can pick that book up in the morning. We have a nice Barnes&Noble down the road from base.

Yeah, I understand that it's just more reading to really understand and learn the proper ways of words.

Out of practice...yep...I haven't done any schooling for 11yrs. now and that was WYOTECH. :laugh:

Seriously if you have the time, Strunk and White. Plus, hate to say it, the only way to raise your reading level is by reading. It requires practice. You can do it. You're just out of practice.

I just need to "buck up" and learn to read. That's the just behind it.

Well passing this class puts another stripe on my sleeve. If I don't pass well no extra stripe. Cain probally knows what I'm talking about for the stripe.

What do you need help with?

By the way, if this is important and you want a concise set of rules get "Elements of Style" by Strunk and White. Very thin, very condensed, very understandable book of grammar and punctuation.

HA, I took grammar and reading comprehension test today and I bombed them. I have a 7th grade reading ability. Class I'm doing is College level reading/comprehension. Per the grammar test I know nothing about ....Pronoun/Antecedent Agreement,,,Complete/Incomplete Sentences,,,Complete/Run-on Sentences,,,or Modifiers.

I've been studying them all evening and night now. Still don't understand it. I hope I pass. I REALLY NEED to pass! :sad:
