Sounds like I can't go wrong with BDS for what I'm aiming for. Although, I'm glad to hear that your experience with both OME and BDS was positive. I've read a lot on the OME setup as well, and like you mentioned, the real benefit over BDS seems to be more choice.

I like the simplicity, apparent quality, warranty and price of the BDS system, and it seems to fit my "needs". Like you, I am aiming to balance on-road and off-road capability.

Great videos! Amazing how much usable clearance and flex you are getting out of that setup. Your Jeep just coasts over those boulders! ;-)

Thanks again; you've helped make my decision-making on this build much more informed.

Great talking to you. I'll be posting the build process on the forum once I get started.

Thanks for the tips - Much appreciated! It's great to get advice from people who have installed and actually run this equipment. I'm glad to hear that you had a good experience with the BDS setup. Out of curiosity: do you prefer the BDS or OME setup, or are they pretty similar? Why the switch to OME?

I stumbled across videos from Rokmen on a BL ( & MML ( install.

They make it look sooooo easy ;-)

They did the BL first; I suppose to have more room to manoeuvre or get a better angle for the MML install.

Also glad to hear it's possible to install the BDS springs without a compressor; a spring compressed in a set of those looks crazy-dangerous; Your suggestion sounds simple enough, and makes sense.

Thanks again for sharing your experience!

Great Jeep! I'm planning my build inspired mostly by your setup.

I'm surprised there aren't more Jeeps like yours - it seems ideal for most people's (actual) use ;-)

I was wondering if you had any advice/warnings from what you've learned, and also about the best order to install stuff.

My mostly stock, new-to-me 2004 Rubicon is not a DD, but I want to balance on-road performance with moderate off-road capability; while keeping things budget conscious. I'd like to lift it 3" to fit 31-33" tires. I've already installed a 10K winch, heavy steel front and rear bumpers; which weights it down a fair bit.

    Here's the plan of attack:
    1. Antirock sway bar
    2. 1" JKS BL
    3. 1" Brown Dog MML
    4. ~32" (265/75r16) BFG MT KM2's on stock Moab rims
    5. 2" BDS lift (coils and springs only)
    6. JKS Bump stops (as needed)

Sorry for the long post, but you seem like the go-to person for this kind of setup, and I'm hoping to get some informed advice on my plan.

    Hi Island TJ,
Did you have to use spacers to fit the 33X10.50X15 BFG tires on your stock rims? I have the exact same TJ as yours and I would like to keep the stock rims.
