    I've welded 30 gauge sheet metal to a rusted out lawn mower muffler with out gas with no problem, just remember not to weld a line but to do small tack welds to let the metal cool so you dont burn through. As far as body work on a jeep your probably looking at, at least 24 gauge so I don't think you will have a problem.

    $200-$300 for a welder if you have gloves for a grinder those will work. Stick isn't that good for thinner metal, the welds don't look as good, and its not as easy to work with.

    Mig you don't need gas, Ive never used gas
