Ibuildembig yeah I think its a jet tuning issue too....I just took one off that ran like a top with the stock carb still in place.

tracy mine jumps to 12 also, but i have the vaccum hooked to manifold for better milage.try to ajust your ide jets...

jeepjones You might want to post this in the proper forum for starters. How about explaining what a "nutter bypass" is, you might get a better response also what jeep are you working on? motor? what exactly are you trying to accomplish?

nutter bypass now what do i do?

ok i have done the nutter bypass and timed the distributor to 8degrees at 800rpm idle according to the guage then when i hook up the vacum line back to carburator which is a weber carb the distributor jumps to like 12degrees at idle. is this normal? also when i test drive it it only goes up to like 2500 rpm and then starts stalling and jumping and backfireing and sounds like its sucking alot of air and gas. Like i can hear it sucking up alot of gas and air driving down the road. Do i need a fuel pressure regulator? I think i do but i don't know for sure. It could be that the timing is still wrong i guess. i need some help on this. I have installed new spark plugs and wires and cap and rotor button and clean air filter and changed oil so what else could it be.
