Peepers Armor cost $$$ no matter how you look at it. at a buck a lb for steel where I go, a bumper costs maybe $100 to start. add in welding supplies: $50 for gas and wire assuming you already have a welder, $15 for grinding and cutting wheels assuming you already have a grinder, $15 for a few cans of bed liner when your done to protect it, $10 for new hardware to mount it. Plus your time, effort, and god forbid if you F*-up and have to go buy more steel. I forgot the equipment to bend pipes if you dont want a plain boxy bumper...

Although you do have the pride of having built it yourself.

Corsair If you know anyone that works in a sheet metal or hvac shop that has a computer controlled plasma cutter then you can definitely get some on the cheap. When I lived in VA I had some good friends that worked in one and they were constantly making things for their Jeeps when they could get away with it. Hood scoops, bumpers, armor, the list goes on.

Search around your area, Im sure there's at least a couple places nearby. Decide what you want, maybe sketch something with dimensions or even better, cut something out of cardboard that looks like what you want and take it down there. If they have some scrap (which they ALWAYS do) then they might not charge you anything besides a little labor, if that. Just make sure you get something that won't rust.

Downside of this is that normally these places dont have plasma cutters that cut very fine, so you'll probably have to grind the edges to make it look good.
