jj33002 Yeah, not to sure about it. Maybe to luxurious for a jeep. I dont know though. I am like everyone else, will have to see and drive it to make my final decision on whether i like it or not.

They now look like a minivan under the hood too.

Beeker I would have to agree with most people on the thread.....the square back and the huge fenders are not sitting well with me....I would have to ultimatley see one in person and drive it.

"Now they look like mini vans inside."
I would have to agree with this as well.....Jeeps are supposed to be utilitarian...but I'm sure it will be popular with the lowered jeep crowd

dos0711 My feeling is that they have lost the formula. A Jeep used to be a very basic needs vehicle...think 60s CJ5. Now they look like mini vans inside.

Ugly..

Ugly...I didn't like the TJ's when they came out though either... Now I'm a proud owner of 2006 Rubicon. The grill looks ok, the fenders will take a lot of getting used to, and the back looks like a suzuki samurai....ugly....anyway, just my 2 cents.

jbone303 I like the electronic swat bar links and it looks like thay added a ton of speakers. But as for the grill looks like a liberty on crack. I'll keep my tj till the tub rots off and get a new tub. New jeep to mee.

Tone It's real boxy though. It will take some getting used to for me I think. I like it, but I still like the current gen Wrangler better....for now. Oh, I have a crazy question. I am in the market for a new Wrangler. Will the general price of the current gen jeeps drop a significant amount when the '07 rolls into showrooms? If that's the case, I might just wait to buy a used one.

moonpie Bummer the end of the 4.0 straight six. I knew it was coming.

TJGreg no hemi, 3.7 L, ugh
01-17-2006 04:28 PM
04moneypit I like it, the hardtop version looks a lot like a shortened jeep rescue. Plus, I'm sure the aftermarket will make a steel fender for it in no time. Still wish DC would put out that jeep gladiator concept pick-up.

I don't really think they'll stick a hemi off in one of those things. I could be wrong. I'm not sure a Wrangler needs a hemi....

One could dream though.

1BLKJP Saw some more info on rockcrawler.com today that the shafts on the D44 are now 32 spline instead of 30 and that the front 44 for the Rubicon will be high pinion.

kbart I really want to take the bumpers off. At first I thought the sectional hardtop sounded great. With our softtop in the heat of the AZ summer we like to run with the windows (sides and back) out but the top on to protect from the blazing sun. Then at night put them back in when it cools off. You can leave the front seats covered on the 07 but dogs in the back will fry, and you can't haul the back half around all day with you. I wish someone made a hardtop with removable windows, I'd buy that in a second.

whiteyj I dunno, kinda looks like a baby hummer?

Just glad I bought the 06 Rubicon

amerijeep These pictures are pretty good. I think I like this thing. There are a couple things that I am critical of, but I am going to reserve final judgement.

4Jeepn Okay checked out the jrations pic's... just something about the front flares and lack of fenders that is not sitting well with me. I am seeing way too much late 1960's early 70's bronco in this thing, which I think looks good but not on a jeep... test drive needed.

jeeptexas man that thing is ugly. im sorry but it looks to modern or something for a jeep

check here for specs & info
not too sure if I like it or not, I'm waiting to pass judgement until I touch & drive one

kbart Kindof a Hummer/Jeep

daddyjeep Those full hard doors look a little funny to me. Other that that I don't mind it. It may just be the angle of the picture, but it looks shorter to me...and maybe wider.

jjohanski Anyone know the dimensions of this? WB, Width, OAL?

That is exacty what I was thinking about the grill. The more I look at it, the more I am getting used to it. I need to read the article, I guess. I hadn't taken time to yet.

Trading up???

I don't think I'm going to trade out of my 2003 Rubicon either...

But mine will be paid off next year and if I can pull it off; I might have to add a new Jeep to the Machado Fleet

article says it does. And yeah, I'm curious to see one up close too.
