85fiero I also put a fuse in the spot under the hood for a while after I installed my remote starter. I couldn't stand the 4WD light being on so I pulled the fuse back out. Then I just went under the dash and found the switch in the clutch pedal. I pulled the connector apart and made a jumper just like you said you tried, but it worked fine for me.

Thanks for the replies.
That's new! In my '03, they didn't put that "idiot light" on the fuse for clutch defeat. Oh well, guess there are more idiots in the world today...

Yeah, this is what I did on mine, and no 4x4 light, or any other issues...

How to defeat clutch ignition interlock?

I tried the deal with putting the fuse in the dist. box, but don't want the 4wd light to be on, so how do you bypass or fool the switch. I tried the old school way of making a jumper and that didn't work. Any suggestions?
Thanks
