|stimpy||I got that same soundbar from Quadratec last fall. I hate the thing. It arrived with a broken dome light, and a speaker already breaking. The speakers sound like crap. The thing is such a cheap POS. I will wind up getting a few sound boxes and a decent set of speakers.|

|duaneduanet||I have the same thing installed in my jeep. I love them. I wired mine into the power from the old sound bar. I had to go with the pods cause I installed the Tuffy overhead console.|

So it was a combo of both solutions.
I grounded to the door check strap post and got the passenger side to work, but the driver's side wouldn't. So I proceeded to take the light assembly apart. Thankfully VDP design is such that I can totally remove all lighting components very easily. there were some loose wires, and I made sure that all the wires had continuity with the ohmmeter. Once everything was working, I put it all back together and spliced into the off road lights power and the dome lights are working great. Only thing is sometime I have to "bump"it to get the drivers side to work.

I used an Ohm meter to see what resistance was directly from the end of the power to the end of the ground, it was around 8 ohms, so I am assuming there is not an issue in the wiring. I also noticed I only got a resistance reading when the left light was tilted one way or the other.
I will have to try grounding it to the door check strap post.
the wiring is this thing is typical to old bikes I fix up... nothing is as it should be!

I suspect it's your ground. The roll bar is a terrible place to ground because there is a rubber sealant underneath the mounts. Run your ground wire down the bar to the door check strap post or a seat mount bolt.
Also, if you want to tie the dome lights into the dash switch, there is a plug for each courtesy light near the door check strap posts. Some Wranglers only came from the factory with a driver's side courtesy light but the plug for the passenger side lamp is there too. It has both power and ground and is controlled directly from the door pins and dash switch.

Make sure your ground is clean and on bare metal and the positive can go just about anywhere depending on how you want it to operate.
If it still doesn't work I would check the light bulb and make sure its not blown.

VDP Sound Bar with Dome Light Wiring
Bought and installed a VDP 6 speaker sound bar with dome lights. I was able to figure out the wiring for the speakers which are working great. The ground and power for the dome light, however, I am unable to figure out.
I tried to just attach the ground to the frame and wire power with fuse direct to the battery but nothing comes on.
Anyone know which wires I need to tie into? I was thinking of wiring into interior lights but when I turn them up all the way they do not come on so I believe the interior lights are inoperable. They dash lights only work if the headlights are turned on.
Thanks for the help,
