Undead-89 The switch itself for the turn signals is part of the harness which surrounds the steering shaft in the column. The Wiper control harness is screwed to the turn signal with a single bolt through a metal projection.

If it is still movable up and down and wipers and the brights work it sounds like it has to be the harness unplugged as stated above or the switch itself went bad which I think means you have to replace that whole harness. I haven't had to try to fix the switch before.

The other possibilities either the screw is loose or missing. The switch assembly itself is bad, or the Wiper assembly is broken in a way that only affects the connection to the metal projection that secures it to the Harness.

drhodes Under the steering wheel, then a plate or two, and a retaining clip then you should have access to all the wiring. If they're all in tact and plugged in there's a switch inside the column controlling the turn signals. Odds are if it feels like its not touching that the switch is gone or broken. Id start there if it's all there post a picture...good luck

broken turn signal

Can anyone help.. i have a 91 wrangler renegade with a broken turn signal. The wiper and brights still work but the lever just hangs there with NO blinkers! Is this an easy fix and what part do i need?
