1990 4 cyl jeep wrangler starter install problems

i bought a jeep that needed a new motor (its a 1990 yj wrangler 4 cyl 5 speed no a/c), i've swapped the motor and i had to swap the old starter onto the new motor due to the wiring being different on the statrter that came on the new engine (although it was allegedly from another 1990 yj). all this being said i never noticed how the original starter's wiring went on it when i took it off. the new starter has two posts (niether of which are labeled) and a little flat post where i know the green wire clips over it. this leaves me with 2 wires, the positive and negative, but i'm not sure which post the positive goes on or whether or not the negative even goes on the starter or on the block somewhere? hope i made things clear enough, i'm trying to get this sucker started today so fast help would be very appreciated.

thanks alot

Jordan
