do you know how to set backlash & pinion preload? do you have the special tools to do said settings?

Jerry Bransford Seth Will you be installing these gears yourself? If not, who will be installing them, a shop or a friend?

4Jeepn If you install a full size locker, you don't need a new carrier,as the locker itself becomes the carrier.

sethgibbons80 But I guess since the super 35 kits with locker and gears and the disk brake conversion I want is about the same price as the 44 with all that stuff already on it....guess I might have to wait and spring for the 44. Anybody running a G2 axle. And if so any bad things about them?

sethgibbons80 Yeah have a 35 was gonna get the super 35 "kit" and re-gear at same time. Upgrade to the 30 spline I think.

jeepr Do you have a dana 35 in the rear? Because locking a 35 makes them alot weaker....

sethgibbons80 Thanks unlimited....if I gotta get carriers I'll just lock 'em or tru-track them. Perhaps a softlocker for the rear and an LSD up front...will see what the wife says.

UnlimitedLJ04 yes, you'll need to change out carriers. or buy "thick" gears.

thick gears are more expensive, and the cost difference is generally about equal to cost of new open carriers + standard cut gears.

theres really no benefit to either method.

Re-gearing

Hey all...I have an '06 wrangler and am wanting to re-gear front and rear. I was wondering if, because I have 3.07 gears, I would have to swap out the carriers to accommodate the larger gears. Gonna go up to at least 4.11's so I am thinking I am gonna have to change out the carriers. Any info/links/input is extremely appreciated! Thanks guys/gals!
