|MellowYellow89YJ||There is no way around pulling the tranny the internal slave is on the input shaft. I suggest looking into the external slave conversion, though more money it is worth not having to pull the trans for the slave cylinder. It is also a good idea to go ahead and replace the clutch, its easy to do, and will save you pulling the trans again any time soon... Unless it has been recently replaced.|

|Undead-89||I wouldn't milk it. A leaky slave is leaking fluid on your clutch plate which will hasten the Clutch plates deterioration. And soon the slave will die altogether leaving you stranded because you won't be able to shift it out of gear once it goes.|

Replacing Slave Cylinder
'90 4.2 - 5 speed. My slave cylinder is leaking - I am able to stay ahead of it but have ordered a new slave and am planning to replace it. Couple of questions - seems like a lot of people have had a problem with the quality of the replacement slaves, wonder if I should just milk mine for a while, second - do I really need to completly remove the trans or is there any shortcut? Lastly - what else should I replace while I am in there? everything else is running well but don't want to drop the trans twice in short order.
