Jerry Bransford The header doesn't fit better with the top holding it, it needs to fit tightly and securely by itself.

Jeep or just walk Thanks for the info.

I feel like a complete %$#$# and still can't get the bikini top on!

It has the built in header with the clips that look simple but I cannot get a tight fit to save my life. My softtop has the same built in header but maybe the weight of the soft top makes it fit tighter? I will put in more elbow grease time!

TJChris27 Yes lol get a helper mine took some "elbow grease" and a helping hand to get it on also leave it out in the sun for awhile to soften it up. I have the 97 however and a different channel. Practice makes perfect im down to less than 10 minutes by myself now haha.

fire239 Get another person to put a little weight on the header while you clamp..

Jerry Bransford Bolt-on headers for bikinis can be difficult to get into the right position so the bolts can be tightened enough to hold it securely. You just have to keep working with it until you get it figured out. That is one reason I don't like the bolt-on header styles like the 2003 and newer Jeeps require.

any ideas?

Maybe I didn't give enough info.

The bikini top snaps to the top of the windshield. The bikini top had a built in hard header piece with the two clamps that should clamp down in the holes on top of the window just like the soft top does. I just can't seem to get a tight clamp. The bikini top also does not attach to the door piece. It has a flap of material that wraps around the roll bar and attaches with zelcro. I can't find the name of a manufacturer on the bikini top. I am a newbie so any info is much appreciated!

Bikini top install question

Hello all. I have a 2005 Jeep Wrangler Willy's edition and I am trying to get the bikini top back on it. I bought the Jeep last year and it had the bikini top on it. I took it off and put the soft top on it no problem. I thought getting the bikini top back on it would be a piece of cake.. not so (for me anyway). The top is the kind that does not attach to the door. It has canvas with velcro that loops over the roll bar.

I can't seem to get a good tight lock on the two clamps that fit in the top of the windshield. Just can't get a tight fit. Do you clamp to the windshield first and work your way back? Hopefully if I get the hang of this it will be easy the next time. Any advice? Thanks in advance for your help!
