that is a good place but I find they don't get on too much, I posted a week ago about info about a lift and got about 4 responses just saying don't get that one, get in contact with such and such place to order one....

The Kisatchie Rapides District are discussing opening up a couple old service trails that could possibly be used but nothing has been finalized yet from the info that they gave me. As soon as I hear something new I will be sure to let you know.

Awesome! Thanks for the info, I wasn't aware that Corps of Engineers permitted off road vehicles to the area. Yeah I have been to the Port Barre and Opelousas many times and its only a little over an hour drive from Lake Charles, La. Their website said they have ORV trails in Bayou Des Ourses and Indian Bayou. Have you been to either place?

Good news!!! I spoke to Kisatchie park rangers today about permitting Jeeps to trails. I was told that it may be possible to gain access to some old service trails but the trail rules would be very strict and someone, other than the park rangers, would have to perform routine trail maintenance. I will be setting up a meeting with the Kisatchie Recreational Director next week to discuss more thoroughly about the trail rules, vehicle regulations, and see what needs to be done to get the ball rolling.

Mahoo As for power is concerned, the JK is top notch. I bought a used JK in 2008 but it was a lemon. Everything that could go wrong did with that particular one. I havent heard any complaints from other JK owners though. I traded my JK on the Golden Eagle edition. Now I am just waiting for the Jeep truck to come out then trading both in for it. I hope the truck has more of the design and functionality of the Nukizer 715 model than Gladiator model.

Here is a link to some info about the Nukizer if you havent seen it. Its awesome

knnphillips I got my 2.5 for cheap to but I defiantly dont have power complaints moving to JK lol
04-28-2011 01:54 AM
Mahoo I agree the 2.5L sucks but I got it for dirt cheap. It was my dad's farm/hunting vehicle and was highly abused. There has been many bales of hay and horse feed thrown in the back of it in the past decade. Hell it hasnt had a top on it since Hurricane Rita turned a tree limb into a missile and hurled it through the soft top. lol My daily driver is a TJ Golden Eagle edition and the 4 cyl. is my project Jeep. Its crappy on the road but havent had a problem yet on trail runs.
04-27-2011 03:17 PM
knnphillips Oh ok lol. 4banger is horrible I just got out of one myself.
04-27-2011 01:43 AM
Mahoo Race my Jeep? No, my 4 banger would get smoked by the competition! lol. I heard it was fun to watch and was just letting you know about those particular races in case you wanted to attend.
04-23-2011 10:38 AM
knnphillips Your want to race your jeep? lol

Yea his recovering quick was going for walks the day after and gets released to go home today.
04-19-2011 07:15 PM
Mahoo I hate to hear that and hope he recovers quickly. My mom had open heart surgery and took her a while to recoupe.

Also, there is a "mud truck/buggy" club in Deridder. They have a track near the Deridder Rodeo Arena. Not sure about the race dates because I havent been but a few people said its pretty fun to watch.
04-19-2011 04:35 PM
knnphillips I haven't been yet either the main racer I know had open heart surgery yesterday so this season looks like a bust.
04-19-2011 03:58 PM
Mahoo yeah the track was bought by a racing club in Alexandria. I havent seen it yet but hear they did alot of upgrades.
04-19-2011 02:34 PM
knnphillips We use to race at 171 in leesville they just opened it back up couple weeks ago.
04-19-2011 12:18 PM
Mahoo Not originally. I am from the Leesville area but have been in Lake Charles for about 3 years now attending MSU
04-19-2011 08:40 AM
