O'Reilly Auto Parts
#MTM 31017 Shock Bushings x 2 $4.69 = $9.38
#MTM 31019 Shock Bushings x 1 (only used the shock bushings) $4.99 = $4.99
#NEE 442180 M8 1.25 x 50mm Bolts 3 per pack x 2 $2.49 = $4.98
#NEE 443620 M8 5/16 Washers x 1 $2.49


$37.26 + tax

Tools Needed
T40 to remove hood bolts
hack saw or cut-off wheel
tape measure
drill and drill bits
open end wrench
sockets








I forgot to write down the measurements for the holes, so start by removing the two hood bolts closest to the windshield. Make a templet or measure the distance of the 2 holes. You will be working with a 3" section of the metal. It is easiest to drill the holes before you cut the metal. Make sure that the holes are centered. Once they are drilled you can then center the 1/2" hole.



Once yours holes are drilled you can cut off the 3" section. I used my grinder to smooth out the edges.

Insert the 1/2 bolt, add the lock washer and hex bolt. I applied a bit of loc-tight to the bottom of the bolt only, where the nut will tighten down to. Next I added a washer to the M8 bolt, insert in the hole and add another washer. Next add one of the smaller shock bushings. Apply a bit of loc-tight and bolt into place. The bushing will compress as you tighten the bolts down. Should look like this.



Add a washer to the 1/2" bolt, then a large bushing and another washer.



Put the jack in place, add another small shock bushing and then the wing nuts. Done.

JonnyZero That looks clean scgeek. I was actually going to go there with mine also, but I plan on putting light brackets on the windshield and it would be in the way. I like what you did though.
As far as the windshield washers, I found these online: Amazon.com: Dorman 47137 Windshield Washer Nozzle Kit: Automotive

Looking for a good place to put them. I was thinking since I cant lay my hood against the windshield anymore, maybe in place where the hood bumpers are. Thats just a thought though.

Eck I did a similar mod but mounted my jack more on the cowl than the hood. I bought flat bar the would fit inside the channel of the main rail of the hi lift jack and hand bent them into two mounting brackets that contoured to the curves of the cowl and held the jack level. Placing back on the cowl allows me to still lay the hood against the windshield. Two 3/8"ss bolts hold each bracket down and one 1/2" ss bolt up through the bracket and through a hole in the jack's main channel. Wing nuts and washers hold the jack down. scgeek12 also cant put the hood all the way back anymore on mine, i can latch it no prob, but cant let it go all the way back

scgeek12 looks great, i made something just like this and have 4 lights doing across my hood and it gets in the way of the washer jets, cant use them at all unless im on the highway anymore lol, but they dont look to hard to move

heres a pic of what i did, and cant use them anymore

JamesHolmes Question....... Does this get in the way of the washer jets? If not, Do they shoot over or under? I'm working on something a little different. Just wondering.
