|hardy1531||Don't get a Toyota WE (myself and Khenderson) have a few toyota friends and they just can't except JEEPS RULES! as far as the truck I would look for something that is solid mechanically so you can spend more time wrenching on the jeep|

over the years have had several trucks on the farm. opinions vary but i would say in general.
1. stay the heck away from any 4by4 that doesn't have a straight axle up front.
2. after about 1980 chevy trucks are not as good as ford. don't know about chrysler products.
3. if your going to pull a trailer get a 3/4 ton if possible. i would avoid the jeep truck if towing anything of much weight. jeep trucks are cool but not as well suited for towing alot of weight as ford/chevy/chrysler etc.
4) be carefull going around corners. if you go to fast all the pigs will move to one side and flip the trailer. then you have scared to death pigs running all over the highway and it's reaaaally hard to talk them into getting back in the trailer.
just my .02

i know im going to have a hell of a time trying to find one around here....it has to be 4WD, and, ill just start saving up now, since i got my tax returns today, ill save on top of that, and as i save, ill look, and hopefully find something soon
the more ive been looking at the jeep comanches, the more i want one of those....i remember my uncle had one...it was very nice....had the long bed...it was a 87, i believe, ice blue with a roll bar in the bed and the nicer alloy rims they came with...he got it at a farm auction i think, atleast i know it was an auction was just happened to have a truck and it was that one....so no one else put a bid on it, and he got it for like 600-800 bucks....i would love to find one kinda like that

|khenderson||doesn't look like you're too far from Ft. Thomas, KY, where there is an NICE Jeep pick up in town. don't think it's for sale, but then everything has a price.|

|amerijeep||Just get you a small trailer. 4' X 8' is just right for the SWB Jeep.|

|khenderson||get you an 85 toyota pick up. it's the last year with the solid axle, and it's the first year with the fuel injection. and if you wanna talk about longevity.....roll over to 4x4wire.com and talk to some of the guys that have toys. they last FOREVER! but maybe it's not the perfect truck if you wanna really tow stuff. but they're great trucks.|

|JeepCrawler98||Can't go wrong with a 90's F-250. A newer dodge with the CTD would be nice, but probably out of your budget. The thing to keep in mind is that the fords will be leaf sprung up front and have a solid axle (or one of those solid spindle axles if you get a 2wd) - simpler and tougher than the IFS that chevy threw on their trucks; however it wont ride as smooth (of course I also thing that chevy trucks tend to ride waaaaaay too loose, so drive both and see which you want)|

any opinions on a pick-em-up truck?
yea, im in the early stages of looking at getting a truck......nothing real nice...i dont want to spend any more then 3 grand or so bc i want to just give them cash, bc i dont want another auto payment on top of the jeep...
ive been looking at 1980-'86 f-250 4X4 and 92-94 f-250
also, been looking at chevy silverados, from 1985-1994..
is there any positive or negatives to either one that i should know about?
the reason im looking into getting a truck is bc would really like to be able to haul large things since i can barely haul anything in the jeep.....plus, i wouldnt mind having something that could pull the jeep, if need be.....itll be a little while before i get one bc i am going to save up on top of my tax returns, but i like to get a head start in these kinda things
