|svtkev||Probably why they aren't called smooth country at least they are being honest in the name|

RC's shocks are the primary reason for Rough Country's reputation for a rough/stiff ride. I'd go with something else. For the same/near price, Skyjacker Hydros ride very well, maybe a bit too soft for some though. Stay away from ProComp ES-3000, ES-9000, Rancho R5000 too as they all have just as stiff of a ride as RC's shocks, even their later "improved" 2.2 shocks do.
If you can afford them, OME Nitrocharger (which I am running) and Rancho R9000x shocks are superb.

|village idiot||My opinion is same as post #5. OME nitrocharger work great for me, although I don't have much experience with other brands. I can't imagine anything performing better than OME.|

|jgorm||I had the RC 2.2s and they suck bad. I picked up a set of 4 JK rubicon shocks for $65 shipped. They fit with minor mods and ride really nice.|

|Wrangler06||i have the RC 2.2 and like um..its not completely smooth but as stated above its not a caddy, 2.5 inch lift with rc 2.2 shocks and mud tires and it rides just about like stock..little rough at about 65-70mph but its a jeep lol|

|eugenesonrisa||Whatever you do... Don't get procomp. I have the same size lift. They're so hard it might as well be a hard tail motorcycle.|

|doclouie||I must disagree. My Jeep rides great with a 2" lift, but I have Rancho 9000s. Just remember this one thing. If you buy a standard shock you get the ride the company thought was good. What I consider a good ride and what you consider a good ride could be two completely different ideas. If you get adjustable shocks then you can pick what you think is a good ride. They are well worth the extra coin. Especially with the lifetime warranty. I got my Rancho 9000s for around $62 a shock shipped.|

|scgeek12||what teraflex shocks do you have? i was actually looking at buying some teraflex 9550s for mine, along with their steering stabilizer|
|05-05-2011 06:33 PM|
|Jma20a||i went with OME nitrocharger shocks and they ride great, worth every penny.|

so the 2.2 sucks
the 9000 are nitrogen charged.
anyone have input on the 8000's?

|mavrick300||I have rc 2.2 shocks and they suck they have a horrible ride quality after about 5 months they were horrible|
|05-05-2011 04:08 PM|
RCs are fine as long as you DO NOT buy the nitrogen charged ones. Ive run them for years without issues.
I have 5 sets on different rigs and for the money you cant beat um ....but Im not looking for a ride of a cadillac, if you want that....sell your jeep and buy one lol

New shocks??? Rough country????
I bought my jeep last year and it was lifted. I took pic. and posted them when i first got my jeep and was told i have a teraflex lift.(2"-3")
It rides like crap and i figure all jeeps do but i think i need new shocks.
what kind do you rec. I was looking at the RC 8000 or 9000 shocks.
I off road about 4 times a month the rest of the time its my daily driver.
