Right Rear Brake and Turn lights Not working

Hey everyone -

The right turn signal indicator in the dashboard suddenly started going very fast when activated. This alerted me to the fact that neither the right rear brake or turn light is working. Is there a standard procedure to investigate the problem? How much of this problem can I investigate myself without needing to take it to a mechanic?

Thanks and eager to learn,
