my bad i assumed it was a ccs /orfice tube system didnt realize i was in yj section not tj

Wrangler Haven There is no blend door inside the YJ A/C plenum.
I strongly suggest you have a reputable shop retrofit your system to R-134 if it hasn't been done already. It's far cheaper to recharge R-134 then R-12.
You will need to purchase a new Receiver Dryer and have it for them to install at the time of the retrofit. They will change out some O-rings and fittings at the compressor that are not compatible. Then they will evacuate the system to remove any moisture. (You can't do this at home.)
Then they will charge it with fresh R-134 to the proper amount.
I have had this done myself recently and everything works fine.

herbie first is the compressor cutting in and out or not working at all because if its cutting in and running that would suggest a blend door issue

Also it could be an expansion valve. The durango was busted and the front expansion valve was shot. Have a shop drain it and replace whatever.needs replacing then have them charge it. Costed me 90 instead of 400 lol

Honestly you're probably better off letting a shop equipped for A/C work check it out. It's not cheap but neither is blindly shooting a can of freon into the system when you don't know how much is already in there, if there's a leak, or if a low charge is even the problem. stimpy I don't know too much about A/C units because I just roll my window down. But I do believe if the compressor is working and its blowing air but the air isn't cold you may just have to recharge the system.

A/C help

First time on this forum. I need help on getting the A/c going on the jeep. Anybody know what to change out and steps on how to gewt it going the compressor sounds fine?
