ecrombie i did an engine swap with a 95 2.5 motor and the distributor has the hall effect could i change the wiring to eliminate the crank sensor on the trans bell housing or should i use the origonal crank sensor set up

racer-xerols Crank sensor - they go without warning and are what sends the signal to the distributor. At least that's how the 4.0 is; 2.5 may have a HEP in the distributor like the 2.2 fwd motors. It's a disc under the rotor that has a 3 pin wire coming out of it; that's the sensor that tells the ECM where the engine is in its rotation. In my 2.2 turbo cars, I keep a spare HEP (Hall Effect Pickup) in each glovebox

retnec58 did you make sure you are getting spark out of the coil?

no spark 1990 wrangler

i have a 1990 wrangler with a 2.5 i cannot get spark i did replace the cap rotor wires and still nothing
