|1970Buick||My Islander is white (not sure of the proper factory name). Paid $2800 bucks and I am vey imprssed with it. 123,000 miles on all original motor. The new islanders have a very cool looking tiki god on their spare covers. I am finding it impossible to find an original Islander spare cover for ours. I might have to get one made. I will get pics up tomorrow! Thanks!|

|Sea-Wrangler||What color is the islander? I have the same year/model. Mine is blue. I just seen a new 4 door islander on the road this weekend. I wasn't aware they were making them again.|

Bought a 1989 Islander Yesterday...
So I have been looking for a good looking/running Jeep Wrangler for about 4 months. I had an 89 Wrangler S in high school and college and loved it. Currently have a 2000 cherokee classic as an everyday driver. The wife and I decided it was time for a new "fun car" and picked the jeep. After looking at alot of crap, I found the one yesterday. An 89 Islander, 4.2, auto, hard doors, soft halfers, soft top, new tires, 4" lift, receiver hitch, new plugs, wires, carb, radiator, shocks, distributor, brakes, safari mirrors, trail cover, new set of Islander decals, ZERO Rust on body or frame, and nice paint. It needs new seat covers and I want to replace the exhaust even though it doesn't need it. I will post pictures as soon as I can. I am going to be relying on you guys/gals alot for help. These forums have been a great tool for me as I bought an 89 Trans Am GTA a couple years ago and turned it into a nice racer/driver with help from Thirdgen.org. Looking forward to getting to know you!
