RaiderRUBICON I leased my 08 Rubicon, that was fine. But I purchased my 2012 Rubicon, frankly,it allows me to buy as many aftermarket parts as I want, without having to be concerned about returning the vehicle or meeting any contractual issues in the lease.

PBandJeep I'm in a similar situation as you (OP) are in.
My JK arrived at the distribution center 2 days ago and the dealer was hounding the banks to try and get rates and residuals for 2012. Nothing yet, as of today, and seems like the banks will not be releasing the numbers till Sept 6th.

Boo. Another 3 weeks I gotta wait.

Glad to see your post though. Makes me feel a little better to see someone getting the same info and that the dealer's not blowing smoke up my arse.

daggo66 It's a shame Silvrevo doesn't post much anymore. He leased a 2010 as a means to hold out for the 3.6 engine. He bragged so much about his great deal and I rode him hard about it. Then he fell in love with his Wrangler. I think he doesn' post much anymore because he knows I'm going to pounce when he sees the bath he's going to take on it in the end.

MTH I'm sure plenty of folks lease wranglers.

The problem is that you're on a forum for Wrangler enthusiasts--hardly the type of folks who lease their jeeps. There are maybe a handful of members I've seen here that have mentioned they're leasing, and when they do it's always stated with woeful regret.

That's not to say it's not a good choice in your circumstances. It might be.

Just keep in mind that Wranglers have a funny way of getting under your skin. If they're right for you, they'll be REALLY right for you.

But like I said, no doubt there are plenty of leasers out there. Just maybe not here.

I might. Then again, I might not. I don't typically get attached to material things. Perhaps there will be a big bad voodoo daddy Wrangler out by then that I'll want. Never know. Perhaps it will be more profitable for me to buy it out then sell it. Lots of unknowns. Just want to see if it is gonna be an option for me. Unless something changes between today and next Friday when I pick up (hopefully), I won't have an option but to buy it rather than lease it.

Everyone's situation is different. I understand your points.

Anyone have any luck, good or bad, talking with a dealer about leasing a '12?

kjeeper10 Lol

The op says he DOES NOT need to know the pros and cons of leasing

Good question. My mother is in the same boat- and no, she is not going to wheel it (soccer mom She fell in love with my Rubi and now wants a 12

SylvanSahara residual values on wranglers is high, due to high resale values and a relatively low depreciation. If you have a business to write off the expense and want a new car every 2-4yrs lease. if you want to own it you can buy it yourself and have your business lease it from you personally. IMHO i dont like or believe in leasing for a few reasons, i dont like mileage limitations or potential addtional expense for added miles. I also do not like the ideas that no matter what my financial situation is i am telling my self i will be out shopping for a vehicle at the end of the lease term. I also believe it is cheaper to own and maintain a vehicle than to buy a new one and generally keep them 3-6yrs(though i have kept 2 cars for over 8yrs, summer sports cars, and will prob keep the current one a while longer 8.5 yrs so far) depending on circumstances

Any 2012 Owners Leasing?

This thread isn't about the pros and cons of leasing. I've leased and bought vehicles in the past and know the pros and cons of each.

Should be picking up my '12 next week and was kicking around the idea of leasing. Talked to my dealer today and he said he hasn't been able to find any residual information on the '12 Wranglers. Was wondering if anyone else is hearing anything that supports or contradicts this.
