|Jerry Bransford||The sensor itself should not have any tape on it, anywhere. It makes its electrical connection where it threads into the bung and teflon tape would serve as an insulator. It doesn't need teflon tape there. Exactly where is the sensor? Is it in a T-fitting in a coolant line or is it in a bung in the tranny pan?|

One last question hopefully. Instructions say not to use teflon tape or compound because it can interfere with the ground & give false low readings. So how do I seal these to prevent leaking? Can i just leave the tip of the fitting exposed & place the tape further up so it still gets good metal ground? Any other thoughts?

Ground one side of the bulb, connect the other side to the wiring going to one of the dashlights which will provide a variable + voltage.
14 gauge is just a bigger gauge than the recommended 18 is and will work fine.

Another question. Instructions say to use 18 ga wire from the gauge to the sender. Will 14 ga work or is the gauge reading correctly dependent on the wire size?
I do plan to run the 14 ga for the power & ground seeing as how it is larger than 18 ga.

+ or - dimmer controls
Installing a tranny temp gauge. Trying to hook up the lighting on the gauge. Does the tj have positive or negative dimmer controls, or does it matter?
