Shocks to run on a 2.5in YJ lift

Hows it going Im new to this forum 1st post. Glad to be part of it! Im hoping someone can give me advice. Im getting ready to put a 2.5in lift on my YJ. For now Im only installing the springs. My question is if I buy shocks now for a 2.5in lift and then decide to run say a 5/8 boomerang shackle will I have to buy shocks again or could I just buy shocks now for a 3 to 4in lift now. I do realize if I do that they can bottom out but I'll try to be easy on them until I get shackles. Id hate to have to waste money if it can be avoided. Also I know some run T case drop or sye. Skyjacker said its not needed for the 2.5 lift but we'll see. Is there anything else I will need? Have U bolts and springs so far. Any help would be great THANX keep Jeepn.
