aaronmrichard Bumping this as I want to try and get a set on order once I decide. I am open to suggestions also though I really like the way that front bumper looks and it will take the Warn power plant that I am looking at.

2012 JKU Bumper Questions.

I am looking to purchase a good set of bumpers for my new 2012 Rubi JKU. I want to know if anyone has any suggestions on the best brand and looking to know if anyone has used these two as well.

Rock Hard 4X4 RH5005 - Rock Hard 4x4 Parts Full Width Front Bumper for 07-11 Jeep® Wrangler JK - Quadratec
Rock Hard 4X4 RH5001 - Rock Hard 4x4 Parts Rear Bumper in Black for 07-12 Jeep® Wrangler & Wrangler Unlimited - Quadratec

I have the factory towing packing at the moment as the Rubi had it installed so I am concidering if I should even get another rear bumper. My current Jeep is a 88 wrangler so I have not purchased or researched any of the new stuff in years but I pick up my JKU on the 9th.

I am trying to figure out if I need a Rear Bumper/Tire-Carrier at all as I doubt I will be wheeling much for awhile, though extra gas would be nice to have as I tend to try and not run the 10%+ eth gas out there atm.

My question as I have not been around them much as of yet is what purpose is the Tire-Carrier? I would assume it is to take the weight off of my tailgate as my 88 is bent to hell with the large tires but I would love some help.

Thank you guys!

Not a Jeep noobie, but a noobie to all the new equipment.
