Thanks for the replies guys, have it booked in but not til monday. Learned how to pull the error codes and found 12, 21, and , 55. which reading up is:
12- Direct battery input to PCM was disconnected within the last 50 Key-on cycles.
21- Upstream oxygen sensor response slower than minimum required switching frequency. Upstream oxygen sensor heating element circuit malfunction. Downstream oxygen sensor heating element circuit malfunction. Downstream oxygen sensor input voltage maintained above the normal operating range. Oxygen sensor voltage too low, tested after cold start. (Upstream or Downstream) Left oxygen sensor input voltage maintained above the normal operating temperature.
55 Completion of fault code display on Check Engine lamp.
Is number 21 a serious issue? and could that be causing these symptoms. I appreciate both your time and knowledge, thanks again. Kym

|kfdjason7620||Sounds to me like it could be trash interfering with the Torque converter lock up solenoid, but maybe I'm wrong, just hope I am|

|rda616||Have the transmission fluid and filter changed. It has likely never been done. Also is the check engine light on? If so take it to Autozone for a free scan.|

'98 Wrangler 4.0L TJ Auto begins to 'miss' mid driving
I just bought a 1998 Jeep Wrangler 4.0L Automatic last week and having issues with it. The previous owners lived near the city and didnt drive it heaps often and when they did it generally wasnt over 60km/h. The car has done 10,000kms since 07'. Since driving it as my daily driver it has began to feel like its missing/skipping but not cutting out. it will have power for 1 second then no power for another second then power again and no power and so on. When it is doing this I pull over and stop and ive noticed it doesnt drop gears like it normally would, and almost stalls. It wasnt doing this until I started driving at speeds up to 100km/h, but ow does it much more regularly. Im not very engine savvy as Im only a uni student so any help or solutions would be appreciated heaps! Thanks
