XPADREX In our case, we bought a Patriot last year and love it so much we bought a Wrangler this year. Still have both.

For a while, I wouldnt have considered Chrysler... but both of these vehicles are truly best bang for the buck types- and do what we ask of them with ease.

I think a lot of Japanese manufacturers have taken for granted that people like me would keep buying them, and that id be happy ti automatically spend $30k on a ride. Patriot 4wd latitude edition and my Wrangler sport both cost me about $22500. What would that buy me from Honda or Toyota right now?

CG3 I read an article in a financial paper re: Ford #1 in sales, Chrysler/Jeep #2 in sales - led by the Wrangler. If I remember correctly, it was for the time period through 3rd quarter sales... in the U.S. for 2011. Japanese vehicles struggling due to tsunami/earthquakes etc... leaving the door open for U.S. vehicles.

walc I have no data, only my observations while shopping for a new 2 door Wrangler in the MD-VA-DC Metro area.
In early 2011, I saw many unsold/left-over new 2010's on dealer lots. However, I now see few unsold/left-over 2011's, despite the 2012's new engine and auto trans. So, it seems that 2011's sold very well.

Jeep Wrangler Sales - Banner Year - 2011

Greetings all,

Calling out a Jeep sales employee to confirm captioned...

I read in an unrecalled magazine this weekend, the following:

Jeep had a banner year in 2011, selling over 100,000 Jeep Wranglers in 2011. This was the first time ever, that Jeep sold over 100,000 Wranglers.

I have a hard time believing this, considering that the 2010 MY sales were very slow. I recall several '10 models sitting on dealer lots through 2011. Did the 2011 upgrades make that much of a difference, in sales?

Similarly, the rumour that the 2012 MY would receive the new engine, would this not have caused the 2011 MY to also lag in sales???

I'm puzzled with the bold statement above.

Can anyone confirm/deny what I read?

Tks,

B
