So I bought a new dimmer and nothing. Still my dash is not lighting up. Which is the cable that brings power to the dimmer?

So I removed the dimmer switch connector and the 2 pin holes on the right side of the connector melted, even the plastic . Any suggestions? Some times when I push to pu the right turn signal the fog lights would come on. Can it be the switch?

Dash light help, burn smell

I have a 2003 TJ automatic and about 2 weeks ago I installed red leds and everything was working find. So today I put new carpet inside the jeep. I had all the seats and center console off. After I was done installing all the carpet, seats and center console, I took the jeep out for a drive. Driving back I turned my lights on and all sudden, I see half of my dash lights on, and this smell like burning wire. Then all might dash and ac light went off. Still I could smell something burning around the dash area. Now I have no dash light and the speakers don't work. I can turn the dimmer switch and it turns the dome lights on and off. My head lights work and so does my fog lights. I looked at the fuse and is good. What can have happened? Can the wire going to the automatic transmission light that lights up the park, reverse, ect have shorted while I was removing and installing the center console? Can It be the dimmer switch?
